DeSantis announced his lawsuit in a news conference where he said "the CDC has locked down this industry for over a year, this is not reasonable, this is not rational." He added, "we don't believe the federal government has the right to mothball a major industry for over a year based on very little evidence and very little data."

That and basically every cruise I've read about since last summer has had at least one positive case and had to return.

In before the Butti Bros come in to decry The Advocate for being homophobic and making gay jokes.

A) Desantis is a freaking moron.
B) Cruise Ships do not operate out of Florida.  Almost all of them are not registered in the US.  They don't have to listen to his drivel.
C) Thousands of people on ships in super close quarters results in disease outbreaks on cruise ships ALL THE TIME.  Enterovirus IIRC is the main one.

Even before the pandemic, cruises were petri dishes for viruses.  How many stories have we seen about outbreaks and guests pooping in trash cans because the sewage tanks were full?

Don't care.

I've never been on a cruise and don't plan on getting on a floating petri dish ever.

I am not a huge fan of the cruise industry and have seen enough people stagger off the floating petri dishes green to the gills from one thing or another to avoid them personally.

Mostly just showed to say "well played" to the Advocate for the headline.

And to laugh at the resident "Farker w Differing Opinions" who thinks Americas propaganda problem comes from the left.

but no one has died on the ship

/covid has always (wrongly) been focused on 'not dying' from it.
