i looked at the forecast on saturday and figured that if nothing changed they'd call the game at like 10am so that the marlins could get out of town and keep the fans from having to go to the stadium

nope, that'd be too smart for the mets

In fairness the forecast was for the rain to be mostly over by game time. I put the game on just as the tarp was coming out and the Mets' announcers were wondering why the game even started. That said, living in NJ I'd be very pissed if I paid $30 in tolls, another 25 in parking (or whatever it costs this year) just to be told I can trade in my tickets for another game.

Exactly. It got stuck out there for whatever reason and never made it here to the South Coast of Massachusetts. Which kinda sucked, we could use some rain to wash away the metric ass-tons of pollen in the air.

\missed the news last night, would love to know what the hell happened to said rain

This happened to me a few years ago, back when the Mets were abysmal (yes, yes, make your jokes, but I'm talking like 2013 bad). Game was delayed and ultimately cancelled after I had parked and got to my seat.

I was told I could trade my tickets in for a later game, which I did. Of course, they wouldn't even let me get seats for the same section, since they were doing a scaled pricing system. I wound up with tickets for a higher tier in the stadium, because the Mets had deemed a meaningless August game against the equally bad Phillies was a "platinum" level game.

When I tried to recoup my parking, I was told that I had still used the lot, so I couldn't get a refund.

Assholes
