The funniest part of the movie was the end, where the reporter transforms into a perfectly coiffed werewolf.

She sure kisses like a werewolf.

I mostly remember Howling 2, where the credits are just a loop of Sybil Danning tearing her top off.

I always get this movie mixed up with Wolfen.

I've always had a warm spot in my heart for this movie.  It was the first time I ever saw a bottomless woman on TV.

Do you mean bottomless as in "no pants" or bottomless as in "disembowled and missing the lower half of her body"?

disemboweled

"disembowled" would be something entirely different.

Wow, how is there NO mention of Voyager's Doctor in this piece?  Robert Picardo really tied the movie together.

Uh, the first one.  It was the start of a life-long love affair.

You're saying his hair was perfect?

Fun but often silly film.....i always love how people stand there for 5 minutes watching a person turn into a wolf and NEVER THINK OF RUNNING!

The HOWLING is unique in that it spawned a series of sequels that are consistently terrible.  Just about any other series of horror films there are at least some that some fans like better than others.  Heck, I enjoy JAWS 2 and PSYCHO III quite a bit.  But the HOWLING sequels are just awful.

If you're referring to the woman in the doctor's office, I tend to agree, because the entire sequence is terrifying.

But the transformation in the newsroom I accept because it's more straightforward.  She's not presented as scary, really.  It also brings up a question - is she initiating the transformation?  If so, does she really need to be killed?

Still the 2nd best werewolf transformation ever done.  I wonder what it would have been like if Rick Baker hadn't left to do An American Werewolf in London?

I think Jaws 2 is really good.  I prefer Psycho II or III, though.  The one thing III had is you could tell Perkins was having a blast.
