They all are.  Every single one.

My second childhood dog was a used poodle.  A step in-law or something get rid of him because the guy in the family hated the dog and beat it, because he was vermin.

That dog adored my mother and sister.  Hated my dad, and would pretty much tolerate me being in the same room, but I knew not to attempt to pet it.  My poor dad kept trying to be friends with it, which of course didn't help.

I could fix this dog.  I don't want to, but I could.

My cats love chihuahuas.  They think they are delicious. A little stringy, but delicious.

as a person that adopted a neurotic dog, that dog needs meds. it's more fair to the dog to medicate it and get it to a point where it can be trained consistently to not fear those triggers. and then ween the dog off.

Bullshiat....like any dog, they reflect the home/circumstances they were raised in.

13 pounds? Hokey smokes, what a fat boy! My family's chinpin is only 9 pounds and he towers over purebreed chihuahuas. Want to get on his good side? Just make with the treats.

/stuff one or two peanut butter training treats into the creases of a rawhide chew
//dogs will bliss out for half an hour rather than inhaling the treats and wanting more

That poor dog has probably been abused by a man in his previous environment.

Like question_dj above said, it'd probably be a good idea to put it on meds (like Elavil) and then ween it off of them after it became comfortable with a new family.

That little guy seems absolutely adorable. Whoever gets him is lucky.

Some dogs just dislike men. I've seen this twice with dogs that I know were never abused. They would get along with any female you introduced them to but hated men. In both instances they were male dogs with primarily female caretakers. I always wondered if that was why.

I have a dog in this boat. His trigger is guys in flannel with beards.

Comically, he had a day when he was so starved for attention that he ran up to a guy fitting the above description for lovin'. After getting his fix, he looked at the guy with growing disbelief, then backed away and started barking and raising his hackles.

He isn't a smart dog, but I love him.
