The Nevada Supreme Court unanimously voted to approve Biden's win there in late November in accordance with state law after meeting with Cegavske.

Why not do the same with the state high court?

If the GOP has evidence of vote fraud and have not submitted it to the Secretary of State, they are concealing crimes. They seem to be in agreement to continue concealing these crimes, which is felony conspiracy under Federal law.

There was no voting fraud on the scale they are claiming. There might be a few cases, but they are being investigated (and will not change the results).

They lost, and now they're lying about it. If democracy is to work, all sides have to accept the results of elections. These people are attacking democracy itself, and that needs to be made clear.

We are talking about the Republican party.

I'll be shocked if their "evidence" is anything more than people using "Mickey Mouse" as a name on a registration form, or "Bob is registered in Las Vegas AND Henderson" even though there's no record of two votes being submitted.

We'll see

the censure prohibits Cegavske from receiving party endorsements and resources,

It's worse than that.  Do you know how many times Miguel Hernandez is registered and voted in the state?  It HAS to be fraud!

They're literally censuring her for NOT lying.

Be proud, Republicans.

Here's the thing: right wingers just want power.  They don't care how.  They have no love for democracy as a concept, only as a vehicle to their own power.  If democracy stands in the way of them having power, that will be jettisoned too.

I wondered why these people didn't care about a traitor being President or so many treasonous people being in government. Then it hit me that a multicultural country where everyone's voice is heard and not just white men, is not any country they feel an allegiance to anyway.

And their rock solid history of massive idiotic projection would seem to hint that we should really, reallllly look into the states Trump "won" in 2020.

And 2016.

Judges in Nevada, including Supreme Court justices, are all elected. Though as I recall (I grew up in Nevada but haven't lived there for a number of years, so it may have changed) they're nonpartisan races. Since they aren't declared Republicans, that's probably the only thing stopping the state GOP nutballs from doing exactly that.

IIRC from the news there are now around 351 anti-voting laws being considered. Things are definitely not looking up in that area.

By what metric do you classify Nevada as a "Republican state"

2021-04-11 9:19:17 PM
Finding an honest Republican is an outlier. They must put a stop to that, or pretty soon people will be expecting that from them, and then where would they be?

Per the article, they claim to have dropped off "four boxes" of documentation showing "tens of thousands of examples of voter fraud," which apparently they feel were ignored because the SoS didn't immediately suspend the election or something.

I'm sure those boxes were filled with undeniable proof that the SoS immediately destroyed and not b.s. that they reviewed and found to not be evidence of any wrongdoing...

And not a one of those proposed laws is addressing an actual, documented, wide-spread problem. A few dozen cases, out of 160 million votes, is not a problem that needs to be addressed. We have bigger problems that need attention. And of course, they all know that. Getting people riled up about voting rights just detracts them from looking at all the other crimes.

We here in Nevada have not been a Republican state in quite some time.

Counterproductive is the whole purpose of Republicans. One party wants the country to move forward. The other party wants the country to regress backwards.

And why do you believe the Democratic Governor of Nevada will sign off on whatever law? Assuming, of course, it passes the majority-Democratic state legislature?

GardenWeasel: At what point can a state censure a party? Is that possible?

When I first registered to vote in Florida, it was as a socialist.
True story.
A few years later, after Clinton won his first term, they decided to make a list of approved parties and I would have to pick one from the list.
Remember, this is a true story.
One of the approved parties, and there were only six or seven, and remember this is true, was the Reformed Silly Party.
Like from the Monty Python sketch...

State censured can carry more weight (depending on the state).  Nevada allows them to pull endorsements and any funding for any further attempts at reelection.

We have a democratic majority state legislature too. Something like that would never pass.

As noted, we haven't been a Republican state in quite some time.
