isn't the unlock there in the code somewhere?  He wrote it shouldn't he know where to look for it?

Biggest ever? No, but it WAS pretty bad. No idea if they ever fixed some of the horrendous AI/pathing issues or not, but even if they did, it would still be mediocre at best.

i got it for free. it's easily the most overhyped, broken pile of gaming dung i've ever been subjected to, and i was subjected to daikatana.

Relative to how awful it is, even for free, yes. Very much so. Anyone who paid for that turd should be awarded the medal of honor, just for enduring it.

Hey, I beat Deus Ex: Invisible War after preordering it and finding it to be utter shiat.

The fact you could get the secret ending through a toilet showed even the creators had a sense they were working on a turd.

They should have run and shouted warnings from the rooftops when Microsoft got to call the shots on hardware specs.

Is that why Deus Ex: Mankind Divided freezes up every five minutes when I try to play it?
Game was fine until I got to the daytime streets of Prague.
Then it became totally unplayable, even worse than Fallout: New Vegas.

I just finished finally playing through Far Cry 5, and my takeaway was that someone should make a good open-world Red Dawn-esque game. Then I remembered that there was this franchise called Homefront. Then I remembered it was not good. Ah, well.

As much as EA deserves all the condemnation in the world, this axing falls square at SquareEnix's feet.

Timesplitters 2 was a "cult" game?

Weird, I must have jumped timelines again, in my timeline it received immediate critical acclaim, sold really well, and moved something like half a million copies in its original release.

Like... total lifetime sales of TS2 appears to be around 0.7 million when I look it up, before you count all the re-releases and remasters and such it's gotten.  Homefront's lifetime total is 1.2 million.

The two games are basically the same size in absolute terms... but in 2002 video gaming was a niche hobby and in 2012 literally my grandmother owned multiple consoles in her retirement home.  I would suspect that normalized to the total size of the industry Timesplitters 2 was a much bigger game than Homefront ever was, so them calling TS2 a "cult" game is irony at its finest.

// admittedly all my references here are wikipedia, so the numbers might be bad.

Yeah that was a disappointment too. But if it weren't for Deux Ex's greatness, it'd have been remembered as more of a weird game. The early demos of DE:IW were awesome... whoever took that thing in the lulz direction needs to be clam slammed.

At least it wasn't a bug-riddled linear unplayable disaster though. Just derpy.
