(Washington Post)   Isn't it odd how Matt Gaetz, who is now under investigation for having sex with a child, was best buddies with a former GOP official who ended up indicted for child sex trafficking? Is the whole "QAnon" conspiracy one massive case of reflection?   (washingtonpost.com) divider line

Reflection or projection. Why not both?

it's just a bit curious how ALL of the official -- not rumored -- investigations, arrests, and trials for child sex abuse and trafficking are occurring against Trump supporters and others on the right.

I'm even more stunned that AG Barr allowed it to go forward!!! So, he's 1-100,000. Perfect to make the Pirates roster this season.

Well we know that Barr is loyal to the president, that's been his MO his whole career. I'm guessing that Trump made sure to have compromising information on as many Republicans as possible in order to maintain control of the party and Barr was helping him with this investigation.

I wonder how many similar investigations we might learn about.

That's likely it. Bigger question would be what did Gaetz do to piss Trump off enough he'd have Barr go after him

Typical day to day mob business plan. Hire soldiers that have felony history known by the boss that is used to enforce allegiance.
It is an old plan but it checks out.

Don't need to be mad at someone to work to get leverage on them. That's always been Trump's game, create and exploit leverage over potential adversaries.

Just like how one time golfing with Trump turned Lindsey Graham from staunch opponent to lapdog.

Republican sex scandals are worse and more bumerous and egregious than Dem ones which is another reason the rw propaganda constantly gins up manufactured Dem ones to try to keep up.

Opening an investigation doesn't meant there was a plan to prosecute. Just something to hold over Gaetz in case he decided to stray too far. Hell, we're still not guaranteed a prosecution here.

Of course it's "reflection" or whatever.  Accusing the other side of your own crimes & tactics is standard GOP procedure.

This is why Trump hardly ever talked about Qanon.  It was too close to home, and possibly being pushed by Russian intel for the dual purpose of disrupting/destabilizing America and controlling Trump (and associates tied up in the pedo rings).

Epstein and Maxwell are said to have the videos so that's where the kompromat lies.

YOU THINK IT'S A COINCIDENCE MAXWELL FACES NEW SEX TRAFFICKING CHARGES, AND THIS COMES OUT ABOUT GAETZ?

That's the beautiful thing about the stupidity of Trump. He had the DOJ act as his private attack dogs to dig up all this sh*t, and when he leaves office IT'S ALL STILL THERE FOR THE NEXT TEAM!

He didn't have to do anything. The way kompromat works is you proactively gain the leverage, then decide if you want/need to use it.

Soon after the S&L collapse of the 80's, one of it's most corrupt administrators had close ties to the GOP, which involved "introducing" teen runaways and kids from Boys Town to republican bigshots. After news of it's existence broke, several lower-level culprits just so happened to.....expire.

It's an old mafia tactic Trump probably learned from Roy Cohn. I don't know how common it is now, but in the mid century it was one of the easiest ways to blackmail politicians and important people- turns out 9/10 older men will sleep with a young girl not his wife and not ask her her age or not care. Better hope that mirror isn't two way.

That was RON PAUL'S bit when he was in Congress.  He'd vote against even the routine stuff that no one ever votes against, like naming parks or giving someone a medal.  It was so he could make some damn point or another about how he was against "government overreach."

Meanwhile, he'd stuff pork for his district in bills that he knew would pass overwhelmingly, and then vote against those bills so he could claim he was so against "government overreach" that he even voted against stuff for his own district.

I don't bring this up much but I went to school with a first cousin of Johnny Gosh. Don't look up his story if you want to have a good day, or even a nice rest of your life.

Tldr: he was kidnapped in broad daylight in the mid 80s in des moines by two men in suits and thrown into a black sedan. The eye witness was a high level judge who swore by exactly what he saw. Over the years it was apparent he was placed into a sex ring, as evidenced by videos and pictures that have come up online. It's super farked up, and it happened around the same time young runaways were claiming they could describe GHW Bush's penis to a T.
