Played Pandemic a few weeks ago with my pod people. We lost by one turn. Literally. If the next person got their turn, we would have cured the last disease.

not a fan of co-op board games/turn based puzzle games.

live action real time co-op stuff is great but not the turn based puzzlers really.if we're all too smart the game is too easy, just plays itself while we wait to see if the RNG elements win or lose it for us.if we're not all of the same intellectual horse power then some of play it while some of watch it get played.Either the smarter people staying out of the way and allowing the less smart to play the gameor the less smart recognizing others at the table know far better how to win this and just not participating much, letting it get played by the smarter players for them.So turn based puzzlers as co-op i just don't find all that fun really. Either not enough challenge, or that the RNG is all that really determine the outcomes cause what to do is push button obvious, or that no game to play really while you let the other people at the table enjoy figuring it out.

You can always play Lord if the Rings with one person as Sauron. It's a great "you are almost certainly going to lose" experience.

They should sell an expansion pack that allows some people to play as an incompetent Cheeto colored world leader, and anti science political party, and a group of anti vaccine internet commandos, who work against the science based professionals.

Pandemic is a game I can win with a good team of players.

The number of times I had a good team of players was 10. Out of 50 plays,

Never did finish Pandemic:Legacy Season 1, and have no plans to.

But if there's a game I hate more than Pandemic, it's Flashpoint. God I hate that exercise in tactical masochism.

Sounds like you have terrible friends. How is it 80% of the time you are playing with idiots?

We beat Legacy Season 2 so hard, we didn't lose a round until we capped the difficulty in episode 4 as I recall.

Pandemic is really easy until you ramp up the difficulty sliders and get a bad deck shuffle on top of it. It's fun, more fun with expansions.

Flashpoint wasn't that bad for my group. Police Precinct on the other hand was a real ball breaker. That and Robinson Crusoe tended to slap our nuts.

Xenoshyft also had some brutal games but that's more luck based depending on how the item deck treats you.

I suggest trying a competitive-coop game, like Dead of Winter. The players have a common goal of survival, but each player has their own secret goal to determine whether they win or not.

And if you don't like RNG, there are coop games that have very little randomness, like Gloomhaven.

Played through all of the legacy game.  So much stress to play as you feel constantly behind and never enough hands.  I hate playing it as it induces anxiety and work ptsd.
