Is Mexico going to pay for it? They still owe us for the wall.  The GQP won't go for it.

Concentrate on passing the two voting rights bills first. That is the most important thing right now. Without those passed into law Democrats lose control of the White House, and both houses due to Republicans in battleground states basically banning black people from voting. Oh you can vote....but you have to stand in a 5 hour line in the hot sun and even giving you some water will be a crime.

The same Coons who voted "no" on the minimum wage increase amendment.

With Democrats like that, who needs Republicans?

1) Propose the easy, smaller bill.
2) Republicans balk and obstruct
3) "Reach across the aisle" until it's a shell of its former self
4) Republicans are still balking but now there's enough Democrats to pass it
5) Propose the actual infrastructure bill
6) Concerned Democrats™ can't believe you put this socialist garbage in front of them
7) Nothing fundamentally changes
8) BernieBros did this!

Coons is an asshole. I voted against him in the primary last year. I've emailed him about minimum wage and got 0 answers back. Calls get the same old i will inform the Senator of your concern crap.

As bad as he is, Carper is farking senile. I think they are making him retire when this term is done. That means the junior senator from Delaware will either be Lisa Blunt Rochester (african american female) or Sarah McBride (transgender)

No way this state sends another old white guy to Washington

I'm on the edge of my seat here, I wonder what will happen?

Reminder that Texas' grid was minutes from total collapse, and that our entire grid is maybe a D+, along with the rest of our infrastructure. We are literally one major event away from losing power nationwide in a way that would take months if not years to restore nationally. I wish I was kidding.

And our roads, bridges, water systems? They're not much better off.

We need a public works program that directly brings our infrastructure into this century. It'd have nothing but a positive impact. It'd put people to work in the trades, it'd supercharge the economy, it would prevent several cascading disasters.

But it would put money and bennies in the hands of people who are poor and no no no the GOP can't have that.

Step 2:  Dems in congress smack the Repubs in the head with the 2x4s until shiat gets done.

Submit is not the same as approved. Some of us just suck at headlines.

I think things have calmed down enough that you can get some through. I gave up some years back due to getting nowhere, but I recently submitted 3 links and 2 of them were approved.

I would pay a lot of money to watch a republican lawmaker getting beat over the dead. Its like watching the congressional baseball shooting in 2017 just what they all had coming and finally getting it.

Yeah, I'm not understanding this logic. "Let's put forth a modest bill that Republicans won't support, so that way we can later put forth a much more robust bill that they also won't support and neither will Joe f*cking Manchin." How does this work, exactly?

/not arguing for a modest bill
//I'm arguing for the biggest bill ever

The fact that this is coming from a nuclear engineer scares me a bit.

And it's not because I don't believe you. Quite the contrary.

I'm radiation safety, currently at a government lab!

But yes I've had a few classes regarding the grid and yeah, uh, things aren't great.
