He must do butt stuff if you keep him around after all that chaos.

The first two happen and are just the result of not developing a habit.

The third one is just plain stupid or perhaps he thought it was waterproof for whatever reason.

Just make sure there is a life insurance policy on the kid.

Babies are waterproof, right?

For a limited amount of time.

She should probably divorce him and continue her quest for Prince Charming. That way he could marry someone better

My wife (and really, her entire family) is like that -- scatterbrained.  It can be frustrating for someone like me, especially when it's combined with the expectation that it's somehow my responsibility to follow around after her, doing the dozen or so things every day that she forgets to do, or doesn't notice.

2021-03-23 9:08:50 AM
Probably.

Being scatterbrained also runs through my family...but nobody has left a kid in a hot car yet.  Losing my keys is one thing, losing track of a life is another thing. ;)

you should be more concerned that you married and bred with a moron.

Sounds like my dad.
If she has kids, I hope she is cool with a Darwinian approach to child care.

(My dad was never malicious, just...  I dunno, distracted? On the spectrum? He always seemed so puzzled when things went badly.)

Who bought the expensive camera?

I'm like that too. Never forget when it really matters.  But yeah,  sometimes  the box of oatmeal is in the fridge and the milk is in the pantry. Whatever.

Lol.  I just went back to the locksmith yesterday and had him make 4 car keys.  It wouldn't be so funny except that I did the same thing less than 2 years ago.
At least i learned, after losing the second beeper thingy a while back and being kept from driving my car for a few days, until the locksmith could get to it.  It wasn't even locked.   I just didn't have a key when I got off work.

/These things suck balls when you're alone and have no one you can call.

I'm binging a show with a friend who is EXTREMELY forgetful. Like, we'll watch the next episode and she will forget a major plot point in the prior episode she had just seen. It's a little frustrating. :)

That happens with my wife, but usually within an episode.  And it's usually because she's looking at her phone.

There is scatterbrained and then there is dangerously stupid.  As in the more time you spend in their vicinity chances of their stupidity causing you physical harm increase.

Look at it this way: if he forgets to lock doors, it'll be easy for the Concerned Citizen to rescue the baby from the hot car.

We've already solved his problem. An heir and a spare. Have a second kid

Depends - is your microwave big enough to fit a baby into it?

Dude - run away from this woman. She's already nagging you over little stuff. It will only get worse if you have a kid with her.

My mom wasn't absent minded, but she left my brother and I in the car on a regular basis.  I was a latchkey kid who would forget his key then be locked out for hours.  She put me in so much danger as a kid, wouldn't want her anywhere near my children if I had any, even if supervised.  Abusive, screaming, and violent is no way to be a good mother.  Bad mother, fark her.

I had a coworker do this.

Someone noticed, everything was fine, and I'm sure he felt terrible. He and the wife both worked, were not getting sleep for days. It happens I guess.

The guy isn't a spaz or irresponsible.

And rem this guy leaves his pants unzipped, so he'll be nicked for indecent exposure too.

There's a lot of higher-end photography equipment that advertises itself as 'weather sealed' - I could see someone overestimating the degree to which that actually protects the equipment.
