I'm glad to find out I'm not alone, as I've been eating mustard on pizza for 20+ years. It helps keep people out of my pizza, and punches up the flavor of bland pizza chain pizzas.

I'm not against this.

Closest I've gotten to this though was Bbq chicken bacon ranch, but I used a mustard based BBQ for the chicken. I ate all the left over BBQ chicken while the pizza baked.

Home made ranch was much better than it should have been too.

I need to do that again.

Comerica park in detroit sells (via the 368 little caesars locations within it) a coney dog pizza. Sliced hot dogs, raw white onions, coney sauce and mustard.

It is much better than it should be.

Local party store that happens to have pizza sells a cheeseburger pizza. Instead of marinara they use thousand island, which I like. Pickles, which I love. Ground beef, love. Mustard, great.  It is disgusting and I'm gagging a little bit just thinking about it.

Did they still use marinara? Or was this using chili as the marinara?

The way I'd do a cheeseburger pizza:

•  Fluffiest, thickest crust available. Bun-like.
•  Sauce is ketchup + mustard in roughly equal proportions, not thoroughly mixed.
•  Toppings:
    •  Hamburger meat (duh)
    •  Dill Pickle slices (no Kosher, garlic, Bread & Butter, sweet, etc.)
    •  Finely chopped Yellow or White Onions (no red, no sliced)
    •  nothing else

•  Shredded American cheese only. (Maybe cheddar.)

Standard KMPO cheeseburger recipe.

I believe I've had this very thing, albeit on a thinner, pliable, yet still stiff crust - hard to describe. Cheddar was the cheese of order and the pizza was asked for with bacon. Ranch was supposed to be included as a drizzle, but we asked for it on the side.

(Midwesterners would put ranch on cake or ice cream if no one was looking!)

Or else it isn't cinci Chilli. Welp I'm going to hell anyways. I'll do this thing.

I love Cincy coney, though never tried or been to skyline but the recipe I make touts itself as a skyline copycat, and I love it, and everyone I've made it for loves it, so I think the pizza would be good, once in a great while.

Probably don't put spaghetti on it though

We're gonna go number 3 here. Which at goldstar is 3 cheese conies with mustard and onions.  Not to be confused with a 3 way.

Also same. I had skyline shipped to Texas and Montana. And anyone who has ever tried it loves it.

I swear cinci chili is either hated on by people who have never tried it or will try it, or people expecting Chilli and getting it. And it's not real chili.

It's a damn meat sauce/ mock turtle soup. It is not chili. But it is delicious

Same damn disclaimer I give out everywhere I end up serving people it thousand+ miles away

i am right this second eating a detroit-style, with bacon, ham, onions AND pineapple. from little farking caesars. and i topped that beautiful pizza-portal-flatbread with cholula garlic (which i buy online in the half gallon jug, with pump). and reheated that biatch in my air fryer.

i was inspired by this plethora of FARK pizza threads....

Bacon may be an acceptable add-on, but not ranch. The idea is to go for traditional KMPO (Ketchup, Mustard, Pickle, Onion), what is often called a "Jr. Burger" in some chains. Trying to do Lettuce, Tomato, Sliced Onion, and Mayo (the other traditional recipe) with optional Bacon would be trickier on a pizza, I'd think.

Of the newfangled burger recipes, the one I think would make a great pizza is Mushroom Swiss. I don't know what that brown sauce is, but depending on the chain, it's delicious, and would make a great pizza base sauce for such a pizza.

and i will say, other than me just being a food tab heretic, that that cholula garlic is so nice and mild that it's more of a "very sexy seasoning vinegar" than a "hot sauce".

proofing some dough is no onerous burden, only reason I have been procrastinating is that if I fire up the oven to roast some garlic, that also means prepping all the leeks, carrots, Brussels sprouts, all lurking en frigo. and I am a lazy, lazy man.

Axeofjudgement: tintar: luna1580: and can i get that literally garlic bread recipe? i know, for sure, i will like it if you do......

literary not literally.

which is what intrigues me. whose recipe is it?

I mean, it's more scifi/fantasy than actual proper literature, but someone ~adapted from one of my favorite authors who usually writes in the style of Dumas...

yeast-leavened fried bread, with za'atar and roasted garlic spread - looks almost like chun yao beng, but thicker more like 烧饼 or maybe flour arepas?

proofing some dough is no onerous burden, only reason I have been procrastinating is that if I fire up the oven to roast some garlic, that also means prepping all the leeks, carrots, Brussels sprouts, all lurking en frigo. and I am a lazy, lazy man.

Awww I love you, you dastard.

Still sounds like a better project than making up cincinnati chili pizza 🤔

I'll get around to the garlic bread eventually!

back atcha, mein brav! alllll-righty, then! dough is made, oiled, and resting for tomorrow. we'll see how the roasted garlic shapes up or not. wishing I had za'atar (or even sumac, already have all the other ingredients for it - special thanks to rosekolodny I now own Aleppo pepper!) - but 7spice is always a familiar friend... maybe.

lololol last time I bought sumac was 10-11 years ago? long-since run out. and apparently at the time of a 4-2-1 exhaust-manifold repair.

I'm excited! It's something I always wanted to do. The occasion to do it never came up!

And I have an obsession with garlic no one else seems to understand, everything is better with garlic.

At least you don't have to deal with an exhaust leak now? (Ugh just got new rims and tires, gotta find time to get it done and balanced)

Really need to green you.
