I already have Brit Box. It's called PBS and it's free.

I almost signed up for Brit Box once but found most of what I wanted on YouTube.

I am looking forward to this though, mostly for the panel shows.

I didn't like watching Sharpe in 5 minute chunks. :)

And just in case, this is BritBox UK, we already have it here, through Amazon in the US.  It's worth it, IMO, and if you like British programs.

The *only* thing that pisses me off is the way Amazon tries to conflate the show source.  For example, I like Midsomer Murders.  Simply selecting it in my "watch next" section flipped me to the IMDB-TV version of it which had adverts (happened during a season change).  I didn't know what was going on and had to do a *season specific* search for Midsomer Murders which gave me three options - buy Amazon Prime, IMDB-TV, and Britbox sub.  But it doesn't tell you this by highlighting the thumbnail.  You have to select it, unlike the regular Amazon menu that shows the source.

The streamer will become available to Prime members in Britain with an add-on subscription.

My excitement turned to disappointment so fast, I think I got whiplash.

I've seen BritBox offered on my Smart TV before.  Are you saying it is not being INCLUDED with the fee I already pay Amazon for Prime?  If that's the case, this is no different than what was already available here in USA.

No Supersizers nor the Wartime/Edwardian/Tudor Farm series. Pass.

The article is taking forever to load so I haven't had a chance to see what they are talking about. But I've had BritBox on Amazon for a couple of years now. I use it to watch Classic Doctor Who. Unless this means it will be available outside the US.

Just worth a mention: the current Spitting Image is vastly, incalculably, inferior to the original.

That happened to me with Midsomer Murders too.  It was SUPER frustrating.

Worth it to find though, because I love me some Midsomer Murders.

The article is vague. I think it means it will be available in the UK, because the streaming service in the article is called Britbox UK and the one I have on Prime is just called Britbox. I'm about halfway through the Jon Pertwee years myself.

If BritBox includes Taskmaster it's worth it. I can find it on YouTube in my country, but every time I send a clip to friends in the US, it shows as 'unavailable' for them.

Truly laugh out loud funny.

I've only seen clips of it.  Love Greg Davies.

I get my fix of Bob Mortimer, James Acaster, David Mitchell, Lee Mack, Jon Richardson, Sean Lock, Jimmy Carr, Ellie Taylor, Kerry Godliman, Angela Barnes, Hugh Dennis, Dara O'Briain, Ed Byrne and others on YouTube, but usually in chunks.

I would rather see entire shows, but I don't want to pay another streaming fee.

We had Britbox, but their content is very limited and most of it is available elsewhere.  We canceled after 2 months.

VPN should work for YouTube. If you search by series and episode number they're often on other streaming sites. Other methods to see it may be available at reddit, r/taskmaster and r/panelshows.

I agree! He's so great. You've seen Man Down?

(If you can VPN into the UK, you can see Taskmaster on Dave. Or, VPN to Youtube for EU countries.)

Luckily, I can see them easily (and repeatedly! Great for helping the lockdown blues). The new season starts this week!

Still another week, it's the 18th it starts.

Got high hopes for Lee Mack, and some of the posters at reddit were at the recordings and say Mike Woz is great. He won the first incarnation of TM at the Edinburgh Fringe, so there should be some good banter between him, Greg and LAH.

Ugh! I thought it started on the 11th. Ok, I'll wait. I think Mike Woz will be great, too.
No More Jockeys is purely ridiculous and silly, and LAH also has a Bad Golf Youtube channel that's pretty funny.

I'm in the US and have no problem watching Taskmaster on YT. On the official Taskmaster channel and everything. They don't have series 10 up yet but I think the rest of them are all there, as are the podcasts which I've been thoroughly enjoying.

Maybe clips or stuff from Dave doesn't work in the US?

Going by posts on reddit, the geoblocking comes and goes, and might be related to the move to Channel 4.

I've had issues with the geoblocking in the past. I usually VPN as US to see sites that block EU visitors for GDPR purposes. I posted the clip of my own personal favourite task of all time (Bob in the "make the biggest mess and clean it up" task from CoC) and the Brit Farkers in the thread were geoblocked, as was I when I switched the VPN off.

Yeah, just had a look again, Taskmaster official channel, and it's geoblocked when my VPN is switched off. Seems a bit weird.

My ex-girlfriend got me into "Killing Eve," and I was surprised at how good it was. All three female leads are phenomenal and absolutely deserving of their various awards/nominations.

Not sure whether it's BritBox or PBS Masterpiece, but we have been watching a lot of really great UK shows lately:

* Grantchester
* Home Fires
* The Mill
* Hidden
* The Crimson Field
* 35 dyrwnod (35 Days)

I am rewatching Man Down currently.  Hopeful for an eventual 5th season.

The bloopers are fantastic for that show.  Davies cracks me the hell up!

Not sure about that, but Greg's got a new sitcom coming soon, with him as a crime scene cleaner, and David Mitchell and Helena Bonham Carter. That sounds interesting.
