Newcastle's strip reminds me of the Safety Vests we had to wear going to school in the mornings back in the late 1960s / early 1970s, when the UK experimented with staying on BST year round.

Neither team capable of playing a simple pass to exploit a promising break.

I'm conflicted about Newcastle. I don't want to see them relegated, but it feels like the club needs to "touch bottom" before anything gets better. And despite all the crap that has gone down there, none of it has been the crisis that, unfortunately, seems to be necessary.

Steve Bruce and fans rooting for bin Salman buying the club is enough for me to hope they have a Tyne-Wear derby next season.

7 changes for Liverpool, looks like they've decided to concentrate on the champions league game in midweek.

Morning all.  7 changes to the Liverpool XI.  Want to believe we somehow avoid 6 straight at home, but my hope on that is countered by the current shiat show this weekend has been (2 near auto accidents yesterday due to people miscounting lanes, 1 near being hit as a pedestrian because someone phone was just so damn interesting, parent tech support issues, parent emotional support issues, grandparent serious medical issues...)

But, today's today, right?

It's probably their best shot at qualifying for next year's Champions League at this point.

Fark needs a "Care" button because I want to acknowledge this, and obviously neither Smart nor Funny is appropriate.

And yes, I do realize that is completely antithetical to the spirit of Fark, but there's a couple of places here where it would get a workout.

Both teams have been demonstrating precisely why they are where they are.

Oh no, I'll take funny, if only because I've long accepted that sometimes you have to laugh to avoid screaming..

Thanks, to both of you.

The Guardian is asking for SOMETHING:

66 mins:
The next 25 minutes are enormous for West Brom. Huge. Can they magic up a moment of quality and keep their fight against relegation alive? Will anything exciting ever happen?

Cheers.

I just realized that in my head-to-head with my buddy, he's got the final score here as 0-0. Now I don't care which team scores next as long as anybody scores.

I think you're in trouble. It's going to be a shock result if either side wins.

Maybe. It seems both teams are able to get into the penalty area. It just turns into a playground kickathon every time it gets there. I wouldn't be surprised if a goal materialized, even if it's entirely accidental or bounced off some defender.

For the longest time I thought his name was Joe Linton, and I couldn't figure out why the commentators always used his full name.

Learning the word "scuncheon" is enormously more interesting than anything that has happened on the pitch so far.

Hang in there. Today's a new day. Hopefully the Boss figures things out and gets a win for you today.
Glad you are okay.

Fun fact: some refs will blow for a foul if a player runs around the 'keeper by going behind him and crossing the goal line. Technically, it's "leaving the pitch without the referee's permission".

Not even an act of sheer stupidity from Mrtin Tw@tkinson?
Hope the Liverpool game's better.
Good to see Jota starting. I picked him this week & have had my fingers crossed for 2 days now.

This match is so boring the entire 2nd half fits on 1 page on the Beeb

If they cut the stripes on the grass to exactly five yards wide, it would make it a lot easier to measure out the 10 yards required at free kicks.

And yes, the grass is more interesting than this game.

Steve Bruce had a bust-up with a player during training earlier in the week, and somebody leaked it to the papers.

If last season hadn't been interrupted, Rangers would still win the league a month faster than Liverpool would've last year

Not getting up for that one.

Sounds like I didn't miss anything this morning, but I did watch Villa/Wolves yesterday, so I guess I get the picture. I see Koop is getting ready for Leipzig, and Fulham put names in a hat to draw up their starting XI.

2021-03-07 9:10:35 AM
I've switched my pred for the Liverpool game to a 1-1 draw.

I must be feeling ill,or something.

2021-03-07 9:13:56 AM
On Friday, I bet $1 on Fulham to win with 7-1 odds and $1 on a 0-1 scoreline with 22-1 odds. So if Fulham win 1-0, I'm making $29 profit because if my team is going to suck out loud, I want to at least profit from it; damnit!

Before the season started people would of pointed and laughed at you.  But now, that's not a bad play.

I don't think there's enough coffee in the world to get me through this day.
So so hung over.
