(Las Vegas Review Journal)   Vegas Golden Knights luck at picking hotels is worse than their luck on the ice. Do you know the way to a better place to stay in San Jose, btw?   (reviewjournal.com) divider line

The Courtyard is nice. The wifi isn't free, but otherwise it's a nice spot.

Not turning off my ad blocker to read TFA. Did they get booted for acting like hockey players?

I stayed at the Pacific Motor Inn near the convention center a few years ago. Sketchy as hell but that only added to the "experience" of staying in downtown San Jose.

I've been away so long I might go wrong and lose my way in San Jose.

As it happens, this might be the first time in history that a hockey team got thrown out of a hotel when it wasn't their own damn fault.

/hotel went all chapter 11-y.

CSB: Mrs LesserEvil and I stayed at the Days Inn in Toronto... the one next to the Maple Leaf Gardens before the Leafs moved out of the Gardens. We stayed the night before they were hosting a game, so of course, at 3am, the fire alarm went off (due to some Leafs fan trying to disrupt the visiting team's sleep), and we had to leave the building, barely dressed. Fun times.

I used to stay at that Fairmont when I did work in Santa Clara. Was a nice hotel - COVID striking again.

But, OTOH, maybe doing a $10mm renovation wasn't the best decision - at least until conferences start getting booked again.

The Embassy Suites in Santa Clara is nice, no one is going to Niners games or Great America at present so there should be plenty of rooms available.
