They don't want anyone to give them power.  They can do it themself.  Which totally is not the mindset of a three year old child.

Seriously man. A) why are you dressing politics into this. B) you have to understand that they separated their grid from everyone else, right? Like we can't just send them Power over a grid they were unwilling to connect to the US-wide grid. C) they didn't want to be in our grid because they would have to do maintenance on their power stations to bring them up to federal code... The kind of code that makes sure would be able to sustain power in temperatures lower than Texas wants to admit occurs in Texas. Like the last time a decade ago when they specifically chose not to join the grid after having the exact same issues.

Sucks to be the reasonable people in Texas getting farked over by traditional Texans, but we can't help them as long as they let the traditional ones run amok and make their laws and rules.

I think the trade-off is "aluminium" for "sulfur" instead of "sulphur".

/And, FWIW, Davy used both "aluminium" and "aluminum", using "aluminium" first.

They should recreate something like the Nazca Lines over one area of Mars and if life ever evolves, maybe someday they will produce TV shows about how primitive civilizations created them as landing strips for aliens or something.

When your country sends a rover to Mars, they can call its wheels whatever they want

It's not a boast. Just saying that it's not their rover; they don't got naming rights

Yes, it is.

China can get a rover to Mars, they are orbiting now and the rover will be landing in a few months. My bet would be theirs working.

The EU and England have not. The first EU attempt is delayed till 2022, for now. Since England left the EU, they can't even claim to be part of that. Meanwhile, NASA find the remains of the Beagle 2, the British one DOA.

If you think using knowledge in scientific advancement is a problem because of the politics, or you don't like some of the people involved, that's on you. Science is collaborative, and there's a ton of advancements from sources that you might want to opt out of, but that isn't how it works.
