These guys do a bunch of good covers. I like the recurring theme of the accordion player always being late, hurrying in on his tractor from his latest adventure.

Go back to the ones who started it all: Hayseed Dixie. Say it fast, sounds like "AC/DC."

They started out as a bluegrass ac/dc band, but they exhausted the catalog and expanded to Queen and much more. They put on a fun show.

One of my favorite albums - top 20, easily - is the bluegrass tribute to Modest Mouse called Something You've Never Heard Before.

Especially Float On. And Trailer Trash. I wish they would do some Zevon.

I remember hearing about them in 2001.  Nothing recent, though.

Oh they're there.  'Billies are everywhere.  Pick a country, they got 'em.  They just talk funny in a language other than English.  They appear to be a universal human constant.

O Brother Where Art Thou creates another dress-up fantasy.
Even hillbillies wore suits when they performed in the 1920s, 30s, 40s - they didn't dress like out-of-work field hands.
Also, nothing on the banjo is amazing.
