"Enough fussing and whining. How much longer will the crying go on?" Bolsonaro told a crowd at an event. "How much longer will you stay at home and close everything? No one can stand it anymore. We regret the deaths, again, but we need a solution."

You say you want a solution.  But what you're expecting is magic that requires nothing from you.

Maybe he's looking for a final solution.

I thought he solved it months ago with hydroxychloroquine. Did that not work out?

"How much longer will you stay at home and close everything? No one can stand it anymore. We regret the deaths, again, but we need a solution."

You're the f***ing president! Why are you musing about this with everybody like someone else should come up with a solution?

Furthermore  - there are solutions.

Uh, Trump did that.  Maybe not with the word "whine" but he portrayed the entire thing as an overblown hoax/conspiracy/fear reaction driven by the media specifically to make HIM look bad.

When he got sick he told people not to fear COVID and get on with their lives.

He told his nutball followers to 'LIBERATE' states that were shut down.

Have we forgotten already?

"The government is working to obtain additional vaccines from more suppliers. The Health Ministry is negotiating to buy 2 million additional Pfizer doses by May, 16.9 million Janssen doses by September and 63 million doses of the Moderna vaccine by January 2022"

Smart, angling for a "leftover stock" discount.

Grown adults in power with not only access to world history but also access to all kinds of historians and advisors seem to forget the past.

Perhaps while he's been torn apart by his own people someone will whisper into his ear to stop whining, it's only a violent and abrupt dismemberment session.

He has a solution. "If he dies, he dies" seems to be the current policy.

Talking to my mom who lives there with my Grandma, she said it's gotten really scary.  Lots of people found dead in their homes.  Lots of young unemployed and increasingly desperate people.  Price gouging on everything and on top of it all dangerously bad storms where she is today.  I've never been more concerned for her safety down there.  Sucks feeling helpless about a situation.

I pray Bolsonaro gets the Ghaddafi treatment.

So, exactly like Trump, except Trump was slightly better at editing himself.

Believe me, the conservative coronavirus plan was & is working as planned. shiat on people, convince them to die for the 1% then tell them it's liberals fault.

Maximum cruelty is the point.

The whole point of "herd immunity" is that it's supposed to protect the herd. Most members are protected through direct vaccination while the few unvaccinated individuals are protected because the disease can't maintain chains of transmission to reach them,

A strategy of letting the disease spread uncontrolled until it runs out of victims is not herd immunity. A better name would be something like "surrender" or "capitulation".

That would be Hitlerzinho. And Bolsonaro claimed his great-grandfather was a soldier in Nazi times, losing one arm in the war, and once said that Hitler was a great strategist. (facepalm)

Most of the people in the military support him. Bolsonaro gave many high-profile, well paid positions in the government to military people, the same Chavéz did in Venezuela (and Bolsonaro loves to provide Venezuela as a bad example). A coup against him is not going to happen.

I dunno. Maybe. This guy has stacked his cabinet with Military folks, was previously in the military, and a huge supporter of Brazil's Right-wing dictatorship of years past. It really depends on how satisfied the military is with his performance, and if they feel respected. If the ranks are full of people who've lost family to covid or troops are getting sick, and dying (wouldn't that be interesting to know!) I think you could be on to something there.  Otherwise; Bolsonaro is the type of scuzz who would force people back to work at gun point if it meant getting his way, and sadly there are probably enough thugs recruited into the brazilian armed services that he could get by with some pretty ugly stuff.

I'm no advocate for a coup d'etat in most cases, but this @$$hole totally deserves a coup.

But hey, those Moderna vaccines are coming in 2022, and it's already March, so that's just right around the corner.
