Crap...I forgot what day it was! Woot! A thread about the Alien Invasion!! :)

Bathia_Mapes: I've been exchanging messages with AN over on FB and she approves of this thread and wants to participate. Once she's signed onto Fark I'll make certain she has TF so she doesn't have to wait until Saturday morning.

Just got an e-mail from the Delta Caturday Services Department. When AN's up for traveling again, they tell me this should still be good:

sherpa18: akimbotoo: Bathia_Mapes: The Ice Queen: For some reason, I was thinking the cat she was escorting was Delta.
I wonder how Delta and Vanna are doing post Invasion tour?

Maybe I'm confused, but I thought Delta was one of the kittens in cretinbob and domari's care.

I remember Delta as being special needs and they were going to keep her.  Vanna was her mom.

That is correct. I also spoke to domari last night and she promised to pop into the thread, so maybe we will get new pics of Delta!

Cool!

Well, its been another crazy week, hope everyone is doing well.  Hard to have emergency eye surgery for two retinal tears monday.  Was hosting a zoom presentation last friday, we are ditching Solarwinds for our IT shop and an replacing it with Microsoft SCOM.  About halfway through, in my right eye, I saw exactly what you'd see if you dropped a drop of ink into a glass.  But, it was blood from a burst blood vessel.  As mentioned, my retina tore in two places.  Should heal though and the beaucoup specks/floaters in my eye should go away in a few weeks.  Something ✝🕉 told me to get it checked out fast, glad I did.

Bertha. (The F100, if u don't know) is getting her side pipes removed today as one of them blew a baffle straight out the back.  End of an era, they've been on there since 1976.  Decided to drop in MagnaFlows and exiting in front of rear wheels with multiple chrome tips per side.  Should look pretty good.  Nice that it looks like the stim checks we are getting next week should cover it.

The eye, I asked the doc about it and he told me that it comes with growing older.  Wasnt anything i did or didn't do to cause it (shrug).  Considering that my fav hobby is rc helis, I was pretty worried about loss of eyesight.  But, it should heal fine.

As for Solarwinds, it wasnt a bad product overall, but their Support wasnt for shiat.  The decision came down from our Security team anyway.  SCOM does far better monitoring DFS Replication backlogs, etc anyway.  That's important as we use virtual desktops extensively.

Verified today from HR that im retiring in 21 months (Dec 27, 2022)!!!!!!  There's a light at the end of the tunnel, and its not an oncoming train....

The linkage on the lock cylinder in the drivers door of the F150 station wagon fell off inside of the door and then things a little bit I just finished putting it back together I took it apart today's Thursday or Saturday or Sunday I took the door apart A couple days ago, but turns out the e-clip had came off. Of course I thought I had bought a assortment of them but couldn't find them so I had to buy some more. Haven't felt good the last few days but I did manage to go hook that up and pretty much works. I still need to get the lock lever that sticks out of the top of the door frame because that broke and fell off along time ago. Worst part about it is I had actually bought a replacement for the lock lever at the junkyard years ago I thought I knew where it was but couldn't find it

I love sourdough bread, wish one could email a slice 🙂😜

I could send you some of my starter, then you can make your own :-) I don't think emailing a slice would work though. I really think that sourdough is the easiest bread to make once you have a starter. And I made a good starter last time think I will keep it around longer than the last one. its name is Kali Ma RWDA help me name it. Kali Ma's daughter Sue I gave to the neighbor across the street so hopefully she will be making some sourdough with it. Because I appreciate RWDA I will let her explain the name :-)

The Flowmaster is the best for newer old school, they are after the cherry bombs Werethe big thing but before the magna flow. That's what I have on the four-wheel-drive pick up. If you can get them made for your rig the ultimate new fangled current stuff would be Borla. Borla was involved with Carol Shelby and the mustang and cobra projects. The exhaust company is a little bit newer.

And as I keep searching for my elusive Alien photo file (damn computer!), I found a few q_j inspired captions and a couple of his original masterpieces. I feel it only fitting that I post them here, since he was instrumental in getting the whole Alien Invasion off the ground, and it breaks my heart that he didn't live long enough to join us here and see how far our little alien has come. As someone mentioned upthread, he would have been so proud.

Fly planes with both, but I originally learned on mode one it seems to give you a little bit better finesse because the ailerons and the elevator on different sticks. I have a T-Rex (if you remember those) pretty screaming hot for back in the day. but I didn't know anybody really good at flying mode one (well one guy, but could never get him to help) so trying to set it up as mellow so I could for learning by my self and had a heckuva time  Just when I was starting to get a little bit of hovering under control my friend wanted to fly it and it was too touchy for him, he is unbelievably good flyer with a airplane mode one or mode 2 and has since gotten OK with a mode 2 helicopter but it was too much for him and he smacked it on the ground so I rebuilt it and I took off and I didn't test her well enough and I had servo had stripped out. But I didn't find it in my testing so I crashed it again and then I said well maybe I'll wait. Because money. I should get something that size or bigger all set up And not quite as acrobatic Carol, helicopter but you know money

2 months or so ago , My 78 y.o. mother went to bed with 2 good eyes and woke up totally blind in one. An emergency trip to the Dr. diagnosed a torn retina. Surgery was scheduled, but she had to live with it a few days...it's all healed now and her sight is as good as before.

Fark that Pixel: SpaceMonkey-66: Fark that Pixel: SpaceMonkey-66: bobug: SpaceMonkey-66: Well, its been another crazy week, hope everyone is doing well.

Wow. So glad they could fix it. Any idea why your eye shredded? Solar winds isn't that bad!

Speaking of RC helicopters, can you fly mode one?

Never tried it, I roll with Mode II exclusively....

T-Rex?  Yup. Heard of em.  That's a 600E on the top shelf in the mancave.  Runs 12s with aux receiver battery.  Older electronics, but why change em if they work.......😎.  Flies like a truck compared to some of my other birds.....

One beneath it its a Logo 600SE.....

ProcrastinationStation: groppet: Oh I got some good news Isaac the roommate and her BF got approved for an apartment that is closer to me so that is good. My sister and her family are probably getting a home 2 houses down from where they are at. So that is good news.

Oh how nice for her!
Does she know your sister too?
I'm pretty you've mentioned she has had sobriety challenges so being nearer to you and your sister is good support for her

Well my sister isnt that much closer to me 😟 I want to say about 50 miles in horse and meth country. But I am glad the roommate found a place, she seemed kinda pissed about the people in the sober living house. She jokes how it might drive her back to drinking, I hope it was a joke at least. She does have a great network of people to help her which I am glad for that was my one big worry about her being here with just me.

Ellie is feeling better.   I was able to get her first dose of her med in her this morning.   And then I put the plate of goos9food in front of her and she ate...and ate.   This is a fresh photo from tonight

Andy made a somewhat unusual visit to my lap this week, posed for a photo, then curled up and went to sleep with one eye open.

Gigi and JoJo playing hide and seek...and JoJo posing pretty.

That pic of Gigi and JoJo looks like a parent channeling Hank Hill..."Son, people can SEE you!"

It's a bit washed out in the photo but my favorite thing about her appearance is the orange tip of her tail.

I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy and safe this week.  It's been eventful here with the refugees going back to Texas.  And then, under consultation with my son's therapist, the House of Furmaggedon has grown once again.  So welcome to Caturday Abed.  The son is on a serious Community binge right now.

He's 8 weeks, has some Bengal in him, and is absolutely fearless with all of his step brothers.  If I can get him to sit still for more than a few seconds, I'll get some more pictures of him on here.  Stay healthy and safe this weekend everyone.
