(ABC News)   GOP lawmakers in a dozen states seem to have simultaneously introduced nearly identical bill to pass an unconstitutional law to counter an imaginary threat. Huh, funny, that   (abcnews.go.com) divider line

Is it time to buy gun manufacture and ammo stocks again?  Because it seems like they go up and down in some kind of cycle, based on the administration in office.

They're out of money after having to buy back all the guns that Clinton took, then again after Obama took them all again.

it's not liberals trying to take away your guns, it's conservatives trying to take away your social security.

Just create a state militia and yell "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED". No need to create laws and rules and job killing regulation.

But are they gonna take social security away from those people, too?  Then it's ok.

Biden was elected - that is all of the gun control you need. Have you even tried to buy ammo recently? Have you tried buying a keg of powder or primers to reload your own ammo? I'll get a 3rd barn cat before I shoot another rat with an HMR .17 round. I'm willing to spend the money - just can't load the "out-of-stock" sign into the chamber.

States already have the option not to have their officers enforce Federal laws.  It's a courtesy, not a requirement. But the Supremacy Clause forbids states from writing their own laws that preempt or supercede federal laws.

If states dont want to enforce federal laws, just let the feds know they'll have to send their own guys in to do it. And brace for the repercussions.

I experienced difficulty finding affordable ammunition before the election. I have not dared try finding any since then.

I just want to go back to the damn range and do some plinking with my .223's

How much ammunition are all these nutters trying to sit on? The "Obama gonna take her guns" people are going to kill shooting sports themselves by preventing anyone from buying ammo to go shooting with at same prices.

It's an intended distraction, time-waster, clock-runner-outer, etc.
Federal law (usually) supercedes state law, but it often takes a federal court to overrule the state law.
That takes time to do, and they know this. (sound familiar?)

One problem with that: the Orange smokescreen generator no longer flushes the news cycle every 8-12 hours, so more stories float to the top and stay there longer.
Nothing for them to hide behind.

The American gun fetish has always fascinated me. And I don't mean to be insulting with the word fetish, it was the only word I could think of that describes it adequately.

Here in Canada, the only people you see with guns on their hip are police and military.

Having grown up in this culture, it is rather disconcerting when I am in the U.S. and see just a regular person walk into a WalMart with a gun on their hip.

Two countries so close to each other, yet so far apart on some things.

It is because an overwhelming majority of the U.S. lives in some kind of fear.  And fear may not be a strong enough word.  It's one of the reasons why I've never understood the "U.S. is number 1!!!" mentality.  We aren't.  Not by any metric you care to use for developed nations, with only 2 exceptions: military spending and number of guns per population.

Fear isn't really fear without some loathing to lend it substance and nuance.

I wonder what will help end these assholes' lock on large parts of the country?

A. Whining about how unjust the system is on "social media" but doing nothing else
B. Voting for someone who isn't one of these assholes

Yes but look how much more Freedom the US has than Canada thanks to those brave guns.

Guns prevented the US from imprisoning more of our citizens than any other country
Guns prevented millions of people from haviing to spend a century under segregation
Guns protected the 4th Amendment from things like warrantless wiretapping
Guns prevented the government from stealing property with laws like civil asset forfeiture wiithout a crime
Guns stopped the government from placing Japanese citiizens into internment camps just because of their race
Guns keep the US police forces from becoming overly militarized and viiolent compared to other western countries

You Canadians just don't get it. I mean, without our guns, the US would be just as oppresive as Canada and nobody here wants that fate.

New Hampshire elected a very reactionary legislature, who pasted this shiat and a whole other pile of shiat like Right to Work and some anti abortion bans on things that never happen. It all smacked of the ALEC agenda, or if not that then the Koch Putsch, or some other ultra RW bullschit.
The R Governor is quite popular, and he's not down with the BS the Statehouse is getting up to.

Come to Minneapolis...  everyone is stockpiling ammo ahead of the Derek Chauvin (George Floyd) trial.. in case the Boogaloo Boys, Umbrella Guyd, & other Riot Tourists show up again.

My neighbor the Bernie Bro...  locked & loaded in all calibers.  My other neighbor with the Green Peace & rainbow triangle stickers on her door... .38 locked & loaded.
The guys selling drugs out of the apartment on the corner... riots are way bad for business.  They're strapped.

The bigger deer hunting calibers are plentiful.
No problem finding .30-06

The waterfowl & turkey loads are plentiful.
.00 buck is scarce.

Seems like it some ammo manufacturer could scale up output, they could sell out at premium prices & make big $$$$.
So where's the bottleneck?
