From another article - 2046 calories.

I don't eat fast food any longer but if I did, I can't imagine wanting a 2K calorie punch in one package.  I would at least by 3 Whoppers and try to savor the salt and fat.

I'm guessing it's more like the toilet scene in Dumb and Dumber.

Where was this 40 years ago, when I could have eaten it without any problem?

seriously ^^^this! when I was a teenager, my Aunt opened a country/western bar that served 1lb burgers (single ginormous patty!) - I could scarf one of those in minutes and beg for more. and not regret it later that night or the next day.

kind of unusual for Japan, even the lowliest of fast food chains usually manage to do super-amazeballs presentation on stuff. then again it's not like they had much to work with here...

Seems to me they're trying to make meme burgers, and hoping they go viral.

// hopefully not literally

Well that looks absolutely disgusting.

I probably could eat a 1 pound burger (mmmmm Naps in Hamilton Montana). But if it looked like that I'd have to pass on it.

yeah, that's what I don't get. around 75% everytime rocketnews goes to investigate some new oddity, even places like BK and McD's in Japan usually strive for the best possible presentation. to the point that a lot of what they review looks damn-near close to the actual marketing/ads.

but the very nature of this thing? I really don't think there's any way to make it look good it's just a mess. although I would not at all mind a metric fark-tonne of garlic chips.

but, again, still odd - if rocketnews call a place and ask what $100 would get you for extra bacon (or pickles, or cheese slices, they've done all of these) - so long as you ask a day or two ahead, the store will politely and uniformly do it, and package it with the most possible care.

When I read about this a week or so ago, I sent it to my wife and asked if we should go split one this weekend. She seemed less enthusiastic about it than I was.  Might still go have it solo, if she's not up to the task.

Whoppers are sh*t, every 10 years I find myself at a BK ordering a whopper to remind myself how awful they are

/BK is too cheap for seasoned beef patties
