aetherspoon: SFSailor: Have you read the subreddit r/Trackballs? They have a lot of trackballs listed, at least some of them match what you want.mments/eeke7m/brief_list_of_available_trackballs_as_of_late_2019/

I'm more of a fan of thumb-based trackballs myself, but maybe that can give you some hope?

Wait.  There are other websites than Fark?

Actually, no, I hadn't seen that -- and I only kindasorta lurk a couple of their subs, and only on rare occasion, so I wouldn't have thought even to check -- *thanks* for the tip!  I haven't checked the market in a while, and if something has come along, I'll have you to thank for eliminating a daily annoyance.

I'm jealous of your preference for the thumb-based, and wish that worked for me.  I tried one, to get three buttons and a scroll wheel, but I'm not coordinated enough and it drove me absolutely bonkers.  I'm not sure I even made it through one day before it got tossed on the pile of "maybe this'll help" ... an embarrassingly enormous pile.  At least trackballs and mice and touch pads and and and are easier to stack than keyboards.

It's a good idea but fails to consider that different people have very differently sized hands. They need to make a variety of models to account for this. Some people, for example, might want a more substantive platform at the base. For others, the column as depicted might still be far too narrow/thin and would lead to discomfort after an extended session of use; the obvious solution would be to offer extra-girthy models that individuals with very large hands (lumberjacks, for example) would be able to hold comfortably. And then of course there's no mention at all of a children's line. Their much smaller hands would, obviously, need much smaller sticks. So, good concept up front, but it still needs some refining.

So I'll have to hold it with two hands?
