Does seem to be some recency bias on the list, but they got the Nuggets right.  Was happy to see Robert Pack get a mention.

Philly must have been a tough decision in reality.  Dr. J was amazing, but Darryl Dawkins.

Larry Nancy was a far better drunker of the basketball than Lebron James, but since ESPN can't do an article on anything without mentioning Lebron, he gets chosen.

Also like how they split the SuperSonics and the Thunder so they could mention Westbrook, who isn't even that talented of a dunker. Shawn Kemp is the best dunker the Sonics/Thunder have ever hard.

Jordan getting 100% of the vote when Zach LaVine is on the Bulls now is interesting, though it was probably much harder to dunk in-game in the 90's given that the 4 and 5 generally played inside the foul line whereas now everyone stands around the 3-point line waiting for an open 3.

Darvin Ham is a better dunker than Grant Hill, but Grant Hill was just so damn smooth with it. Shame injuries derailed what could have been a top-10 all-time career.

Pacers have an impressive list of dunkers.

Centers like Ewing, Shaq, Dwight Howard, and David Robinson have no business being on this list. How hard is it to dunk when you're over 7" tall? Shaq had two dunks, all of which were preceded by his dump-truck ass moving everyone out of the way. I could see maybe Howard, but his most famous Dunk Contest dunk wasn't even a dunk.

Vince Carter is the best in-game dunker of all time.

I remember that seeing that dunk and the reaction to it.

No one cares about "oh, it's harder for other people to dunk"

/sometimes the violence is what makes dunking awesome, sometimes it's smoothness. Just like boxing.
//and in the case of the Spurs...name a Spur known for dunking. I think Robinson is just kind of a default.

Haha I saw George Gervin was the Spurs leader. How great is it that even their top dunker isn't even famous for his dunks?

I am just going to leave this here.  I may not care much for Basketball, but my Dad got tickets for the All Star game when it was in Chicago in 1988. We were there for this.  2nd balcony, opposite side of the stadium from the benches and even with where the blue line is on the ice rink, (I was a big hockey fan, and went to every game my Dad had an extra ticket for, so I only remember the seats location for hockey.) I was not really interested in the events until the dunk contest heated up and this happened.

Once they tore down the "Madhouse on Madison" and replaced it with that abomination of a stadium, our 2nd balcony rail on the blue line tickets that we had for over 15 years, were replaced with seats in the upper back corner of the stadium.  You couldn't see the whole ice from there.  We stopped going to games after that.  Haven't been to a hockey game since.
