steklo: Gaddiel: With "resisting arrest charges" it's often just a bullshiat charge just to have more charges to bring against a person.

One would think the cops would want "less" work to do instead if piling new charges on a perp.

But then again, I guess it's all up to the DA what charges to actually use.

Cops don't mind doing extra paperwork if they can do it on OT.

I was in the army, we had weight standards. I am flabbergasted that police don't do the same.

Maybe if it didn'thave a history of being abused, I mean to say before having my first cup of coffee.

I have never heard of a more bullshiat charge than "resisting arrest without violence"

Running from the cops after they catch you stealing shiat, then giving up after a few hundred feet. You're resisting arrest, you knew it was wrong, but you're not being violent. What's the problem?

Maybe if resisting arrest has a history of being abused to slap on extra charges on a person. People have been arrested only for "resisting arrest" without the officers being put in a position where they needed to explain what the person was being arrested for in the first place. Tack on a nonviolent to that, and it just becomes more of a joke.

steklo: Gaddiel: I have never heard of a more bullshiat charge than "resisting arrest without violence"

I have. How about being arrested for having a joint. Now, that's a bullshiat charge right there.

That is a stupid law but, at least in theory, you're being arrested for something you actually did. The fact that possessing a joint is an arrestable offense is incredibly idiotic and reflects the broken way our legal code is determined. With "resisting arrest charges" it's often just a bullshiat charge just to have more charges to bring against a person.

You forgot the Florida tag.

Man, that scam was around when I was working for the company in the early 80s. It would sometimes work in new stores where everybody hadn't got to know each other yet. But Corporate would pick up on it pretty quickly.

But it's still a whack-a-mole game.

Stand still long enough while wearing khaki pants and either a red or blue shirt will get you an entourage at some stores.

He was loading his loot into the back of a U-Haul trailer, so perhaps he rolled out a cart with large items. The orange apron let him Jedi mind-trick his way out of two other Home Depots without being caught.
