"Golden Goo-Beer-Lee Creme Stouts"

So, it'll be forever known as Golden Goober?

so... it's a milk stout with some chocolate and maybe caramel overtones? something like that? artificial or more like some of the standart/classic methods actual-brewers use to hit those notes? (DNRTFA)

I d'nno, I'd try it once. if'n I can taste the diabeetus, then no, it's right out.

that bothered me as well - they get some points for style, I understand what they were trying to do - but fail due to minimal points on technical merit. if there were cadbury eggs with peanut, I might have slightly increased my score. although that would have made the beer even the much worse.

/panel of judges are mainly confused at this point

It would kind of make sense if it was a mix of milk stout and chocolate stout with vanilla somewhere in the mix.  As long as it's not sickly sweet like the actual confection, it could work.

I miss going to the craft beer bar where I could sample this sort of thing out of curiosity without having to buy it.

There are no words in Entish, Elvish or the tongues of men to describe the WTFery in play here.

oh dear lord, yes please. this one place in the same plaza as our usual ALDI, has(had? :( ) literally 19 taps. or maybe 20, it's been so long I don't remember. huge chalkboard up on the wall behind the bar, painstakingly changed on the daily.

but to the point: they'd let you sample just about as many as you wanted, gratis. mainly their stouts were Imperial-style, which is fine. also plenty of local stuff you'd never see anywhere else. and over-proof lambic/doppel/tripel. went there often enough they knew us, and you'd get the ~3rd-or-4th glass on the house.

It's for children who don't actually want to drink whiskey.  It is vile.

Our local place had about four dozen different beers from breweries around the country plus some of their own brews.

Been tempted to go in since they have limited seating now, but the local college kids have been such idiots when it comes to Covid that it doesn't seem worth the risk.

Nah, it wouldn't. You can make anything taste somewhat like beer.

I'm not saying we NEED anything that isn't beer to taste like beer. I'm saying if they WANT to mash up those grody creme eggs with beer flavor, make the egg thing taste like beer instead of farking up beer to make it taste like a creme egg.

There's a brewery near here that made a key lime pie beer. Not key lime but key lime pie. They succeeded in making a key lime pie beer that tasted like key lime pie beer. I'll only ever need that ONE key lime pie beer.

If I recall, he gave it a lower score than Brown Listerine.

Well, alright then.
What kinda beer? From experience, most beers and anything with wheat interferes with chocolate. Ruins the flavor of both. I think a coffee stout.

If you don't like it, don't drink it. Why is that hard for you?

No matter how bad this might be, there's no way it approaches the level of foulness that was Dogfish Head's chocolate lobster basil stout.

In all my years of working in a tap house, that may have been the worst thing I ever subjected my taste buds to. I swear some of these breweries have a wall with a list of ingredients they throw darts at just to see if they can brew something absurd that beer geeks will throw money at.

I hate the fact I even had to read the name of that thing.
