I do not like that Lindsay Graham
Nor other yellow Republicans.

Moaning about cancel culture.
While worshipping their gold Trump sculpture.

I wish they'd get farked on a boat.
I wish they'd get farked by a goat.

Ted Cruz read Green Eggs and Ham
To bury Barry's healthcare plan.

I do not like Republicans,
So get farked Ted, you fat Moran.

Over the past week, conservatives have thrown a shiat fit over potato head toys, Dr. Seuss, and Cartoon Network ads.

Conservatives are goddamn children.

You know, at least Netflix has a new show that conservative man-children can get behind.

Yeah, Biden didn't mention Dr Suess, Trump didn't mention Jamal Khashoggib, which is the actual scandal?

/We are are at arugula levels of outrage.

Pretty soon, the number of links about this non-issue will be larger than the number of Dr. Seuss books.

This from the crowd that wants to cancel peaceful protesting, minority voting, non-Christian religions (looking at you Islam), and most government programs that are there to protect the most vulnerable. But yeah, let's focus on toys and children's books.

We're in the 2nd month after their insurrection.  They need a distraction.

And of course they'd do this.  Dr. Seuss made up fake words to complete rhymes.
Fox News makes up fake stories to overthrow a free and fair Democratic process.  There's some commonality there.

/Dr. Seuss was a word fascist!

I do not like this Fox News
They always fail to show truths

They report on very silly fluff
To couch old white racist stuff

I do not like the old Fox News
The viewership gives me blues

Dr Seuss made unkind racist caricatures of White people too. In fact he made fun of anything he drew. That's why kids love himThat was kind of the point..
His worst fascist stuff was about the Japanese during WWII, for some reason, hmmm.

During the Trump administration, liberals were talking about kids in cages, a president soliciting a bribe, etc.

During the Biden administration, conservatives are talking about "cancelling" Dr. Seuss (by removing 10% of his published works).

BSAB, right?

March 2021 - Fox News runs 24 hour Dr. Seuss is canceled coverage

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

I'm looking forward to the next four years of liberals telling me "there was an attempt to close child concentration camps, and that's better than nothing," and conservatives yelling at me "Biden is trying to indoctrinate the children by making My Little Pony inclusive!"

This isn't about Dr. Seuss.  This is about old people getting older and seeing their cultural touchstones fade and their prominence in the culture reduced.  This is beating against the waves of time.

There are interviews with Geisel's relatives in 2017 where they mentioned in his later years his regret at using some easy caricatures as was the style at the time.

Seeing which titles they were discontinuing I can almost guarantee most of those nimrods had never heard of any of those books outside of probably 'If I Ran The Zoo."

I wonder what they think of Dr. Seuss' first book and if it should be put back into circulation or not?

I've always gotten the impression that Dr. Seuss would have be fine with with the idea that some of his more problematic stuff that was a product of it's time being retired from public education in favor of newer, better material.

Yeah, this process is not as simple as you make it seem. Again, barely a month into his presidency and "why haven't you fixed it already?" comes up. I'm not a fan of the facility, but I'm sure it's not a convenient choice to reopen it as an emergency temporary shelter. I'm curious what solution comes up, since resources are not infinite and almost every article I've seen is saying it's to get them out of border patrol facilities that have only a toilet and a bench.

These are people seeking asylum and it's not like you can claim eminent domain on every hotel and say, "here you go, and we have a resource officer ready right away". Trump and the GOP gutted as much as they could to hamstring the process, and you still have GOP stooges in the works. I'm not a fan, but if you're asking me if it's better to trust Biden over Trump on this-the answer is 100% yes.

Four years of liberals saying what you claim is assuming this admin is gonna shrug it's shoulders and do nothing. You know that's not the case. Would love to hear your solution though.

"And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street" is also a fairly established Seuss title which might be considered a little antiquated in it's portrayals of the peoples of the Orient.

Later editions recognized Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature and stopped painting him in yellow, but it's still really rough.

I ain't got no solution. I'm just a mouse.

I'm just opining that I'm looking forward to four years of liberals equivocating a lack of progress while conservatives bash their heads against the wall going "Reese's Puffs...?! Reese's for Breakfast? Why hasn't Biden figured out why kids like Cinnamon Toast Crunch?!"

Lemme guess? Outrage from Fox & Fiends that Dr Suess has been "cancelled"? Despite his estate - his legacy corporation - pulling the plug? To, literally, according to the estate, "protect his legacy" (read: continued viability as a brand)?? Despite only 6 of about 45 books being pulled? Despite Suess Inc being 2nd only to Michael Jackson in revenue generated in 2020 by a deceased artist?

Yeah, die mad about it while private capital does its thing in the 21st century Free Market (tm).
