Ruth Gader Binsburg?

Will the monument be a depiction of her vainglorious ass literally handing a Supreme Court seat to Trump?

OH NO YOU DIDN'T

HOTY.

This will in no way piss off republicans who are still actively trying to repeal and weaken Roe v Wade.

I'm fairly annoyed by the suggestion that her great works will be lost to the sands of time.  I need stuff like civil rights.

Is this really something Democrats should be focusing on right now? Theres still no stimulus money. No minimum wage increase. SCOTUS is about to stick another knife in the Voting Rights Act and we have at least one government agency (ICE) going rogue. I get that they can multitask but optically this is just bad.

Just another thing the Right wing will rail against.

And, the media will equivocate it to some southern memorial.

That's progress!

fark right off with that shiat. She served while giving her last breath.

To the untrained eye, it will just be a giant lace collar. But if you read one of her decisions backwards, it will  turn into a stargate and summons an RBG from a different Earth. RBG^ will attend a decision and write a dissent.

I called it as HOTY because her works *were* mighty but I fear they will be lost in the sands of MAGA.

Really, The Hill?

Back in my day proofreading meant something.

That nit picked... huzzah for this idea.

Good on Amy and the rest.

Statues of deserving folk are A-OK.

Why? Is it really true that we can't remember people unless they have a statue for all to see?

What if she has a goatee, and she's the "evil" RBG from dimension evil?

The money would be better spent buying her books and giving them to high school girls who are good at English and Math.

The chance that democrats pass any meaningful legislation while Manchin is still seated are functionally zero. They might as well vote for statues because we're not getting health care, civil rights, a living wage or repeal of the electoral college.

Hey, wanna see me troll this thread?

lol democrats deluded themselves into thinking $2,000 checks actually meant $1,400 checks in an attempt at bipartisanship, got no republican votes, and we still don't have the checks.

It's like a 50/50 Senate is extremely closely divided or something

Yes that is quite a concern. If only no one were trying to honor RBG, SCOTUS would surely reinvigorate the VRA and ICE would shift its focus to enjoyable sing-alongs. Why do the Democrats want to destroy America by buying a piece of artwork? Imagine the sort of *focus* that kind of achievement would demand from the hundreds of Democratic legislators. As Colonel Kurtz said at the end of Apocalypse Now, "The optics, the optics."

I guess waking up and deciding to shiat on an elderly woman who died hard of cancer is one way to go through a day.

Be better.

I'm fairly annoyed that my initial comment quoting the last three lines of Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem seems to have been so lost. Apparently, that annoyed someone (or annoyed Fark's database server).

I'm considerably more annoyed by the possibility that her great works will be lost to the sands of time.

Ozy was talking about the longevity of his own works. RBG knew the court was 5-4 before she died and is getting external plaudits. I don't think it really compares.

Make a monument to her and Justice Scalia.

The fact that they were able to be friends as well as ideological opponents is something we need to as a society try to understand.

And Shelley was wrong too Ozamadias is Rameses II one of the most well-known Egyptian pharaohs
Also Egyptian autonomy lasted a lot longer than 230 years after his death

A statue of her clinging to the bench with one cancerous arm as if it was hers to own.
The other arm serving a Kilo eviction notice to a poor family at behest of a shopping mall developer.
