Then...why did he repeat the lie?

2021-03-02 11:15:04 AM
There are only two possibilities that I see here:

A) Josh is a farking idiot who can't keep his own lies or beilefs straight, or,
Q) He's trying to polish his turd of an image upon realizing that he might actually be in some shiat.

Okay, there is a third possibility that that these are not mutually exclusive.

Every time he speaks, he's backing of fa little more. I suspect multiple interviews with the FBI might be behind that.

Trump's biggest crime was creating a series of morons like Josh Hawley, Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ted Cruz, and the rest.  All who've realized they can be horrific monsters and succeed.

Nope, it's option C (it's always C)

He knows nobody who believes Trump will watch CNN. So he can tell the truth on CNN (he's not dumb, he knows the lie is BS) to not make headlines in his appearance, and then turn right around and lie to the face of his supporters and feed them the same lie Trump has been feeding them. He knows they're gullible and will never know they're being lied to, and even if they figured out they were being lied to would defend the lie all the more rather than admit they were taken in by it.

Of course he doesn't believe it. That didn't stop him from spreading it. And that makes it ten times worse.

Hawley is very profitable for the 24 hour news cycle.

It's infuriating that these asswads can behave like this; and their supporters are fine with it, in fact they think it's funny. LOL look at how mad it makes other people!

Sure, Grandma died from the COVID, and I'm dirt poor, out of work, selling a kidney to feed the kids who have no healthcare, BUT

that liberal facepalmed for a moment, so WORTH IT.

A thousand times this. Most snake oil salesmen don't belive in the product, but as long as there's money or power at stake, they will schill to the rubes.

Hawley claimed, though in the same breath he rebuked the violence, saying those involved must be "punished to the fullest extent of the law."

Yes, including those like you who incited the violence.

"I'm not going to give you my emotional reactions to his quotes," Hawley said of Trump"

Because salivating from puckered lips looks bad on the news?

2021-03-02 1:23:12 PM
No.  He doesn't believe it but that's not going to stop him from exploiting the fact that a significant percentage of the voting public does believe it.

2021-03-02 1:23:39 PM
FTFAHawley added that the former president is "a guy with a strong point of view, he's a former President and he's not going anywhere."

"Not going anywhere"? LOL

Trump's a 75 year old fatbody who's perpetually in a state of manufactured rage, and now that he's lost Twitter he has nowhere to vent it. He can see his grip on the GOP is more tenuous by the day and there's nothing he can do about it, and he's got a billion dollars in loans coming due within months with no way to pay them.

Trump will be dead by the time the 2024 election rolls around, I just hope he monopolizes the Republicans' time, energy and money until it happens.

2021-03-02 1:24:25 PM
He's just echoing the "concerns" of the American people.

Concerns that have were created by his rhetoric, and the rhetoric of his Republican colleagues. Concerns that are then amplified by right-wing propaganda, who then book politicians like Hawley to come on air and repeat these "concerns", which further fuels then "concerns." At no point does he, or anyone else in his party inform the voters that their concerns are unfounded and the election was fair. That's saved for shiat like healthcare and minimum wage increases.

Another possibility- which has frustrated many trumpers - he SAYS all the right dumb shiat, but the true dumbshiats can tell that he doesn't really BELIEVE the dumb shiat.

This is the challenge for Rubio, Cruz, possibly even Cotton and his ilk. You can pretend to be crazy, but it's hard to convince actual crazy people you're crazy unless you are genuinely that level of crazy yourself.

I think the 2% in the straw poll at cpac might be a factor here. This *waves hand* was all for a grander purpose of him becoming the president. He's a farking manchurian candidate except it isn't china pulling the strings. It's his own violent self-worship and his willingness to let the country burn as long as he gets to hold the keys on the way down.

He is Trump, but with a better understanding of how to destroy it and how to profit off the decline.

"He's very consistent," he added. "He's going to say what he believes."

Donald Trump says what he thinks other people will believe in order to manipulate them. Trump also is very pliable, with others talking him into and out of things, as long as they slather it with enough flattery.

He's just trying to stay on both sides. Notice he's not outright rebuking Trump, he can still claim he's backing him to MAGA trash. But depending on what public opinion demands, he can say he didn't support the ongoing lie of a stolen election. It's classic weather-vane political crap, just that it's pathetic that "armed insurrection" isn't automatically a deal breaker. But we already knew that

He's polishing a turd.  It's refreshing to see one of them GOP types suddenly realize they are on the wrong side of things.

If more of them did that, we wouldn't have so many Taylors, Boeberts, Cruzes, an all the rest.

The obvious follow-up question is "then why did you vote to decertify what you now acknowledge was a legitimate election/"

He'll answer with some nonsensical mumbo jumbo about the "beliefs of millions of Americans that the election was stolen," but any half-decent, semi-competent journalist ought to be able to carve up that claim like a tender pot roast.

What's that?  Semi-competent journalists went extinct two decades ago, you say?

Oh, well.  OK.  Nevermind then.

The problem is, in their world they don't blame any of that on the conservatives they keep electing who do nothing but cram through ideologue justices and pass tax breaks that benefit the already wealthy far more than anyone else.

Healthcare? Who needs it when liberal socialism and communism would bankrupt the country and force good, honest Christians to buy women contraceptives and abort their babies.

And lets not forget the rationing, waiting, and death panels.

They're poor cause immigrants stole their jobs, not because of economic policies which promote imports over exports, ensure money flows to the top, and don't provide livable wages like the federal minimum wage which has fallen so far behind inflation it's laughable.

In their mind, what this country needs is more folk like Hawley, and Trump, and Gaetz. These men speak truth to the powers that be that want to control them by making them wear facemasks during a pandemic.

Nope

First loan is on the San Francisco building, sept this year, he's a partial owner, no direct liability.  Vornado takes the hit. He does lose the cash flow

Second is another partial ownership Sept 2022. November 2022 $100 million due on Trump tower.

2023 is when it gets interesting.  He'll definitely lose his SoFla golf resort among other things
