We were gifted a bottle of this stuff a couple years ago. Been afraid to even open the bottle.

Still has nothing on the Moo-jito, my incredible mash-up of Kahlua, mint, vodka, and rum.

Squeeze some lemon juice into it for some extra mouthfeel.

I've never had any, but when I was in the Dominican Republic I saw bottles of it and it looks quite scary. Full of bark and leaves. Like someone raked the forest floor and threw the sh*t in a bottle of red wine.

I'd drink it.

My definition of "Low-Effort" is significantly different than the one portrayed in TFA.

With a name like 'Mama wanna' I can see where it earned it's reputation as an aphrodisiac.

I brought a bottle home with me from Punta Cana.  I enjoyed it more in the DR than I did in the states.

My brother in law got me a small keg for Christmas, and I have been wondering what to use it for, this might fit the bill.

Popular at the all inclusive resorts because it's easy to water down drinks for the tourists that spend their entire stay loaded.

Not all that great in the sober light of day.

The sad part is learning about the cocktail from those Border Security shows...

Mamajuana is great when you are actually in the Dominican Republic and can get real stuff. So I imagine homemade is pretty good too. But the "mamajuana" sold at the airport to bring back home with you, every one of them tastes different and none of them are good (from my experience).

I learned about it, like I do most exotic cocktails, from hearing it mentioned on Archer and then looking it up.
/Really wanna try a French '78 now....

Have been a bit curious - Does the "real" mamajuana have well, 'less than legal' ingredients?

There is a bar in the tropical rain forest on St. Croix that is home to the world famous beer drinking pig, that serves a delicious Mamajuana. They cook a hell of a Sunday breakfast, and Mamajaunas go down a treat when you are nursing a mild hangover. They also make a BBQ glaze with honey and scotch bonnet pepper flakes which is great on chicken or pork. I forget the name of the joint, its been ten years, now I think about it.
