If you're going to the trouble of robbing someone, rob someone that's likely to have money.

Who goes around robbing landscapers?  I'm sure those thieves aren't raking it in, and I doubt they got away with mulch at all.  It was mower less a waste of time, and they should just leaf those guys alone. They need to branch out into a different field.

Probably have lots of cash, sure, but you're also approaching a group of men in daytime  who are likely in decent physical shape and holding improvised weapons. Attacking them doesn't seem like the easiest target.

// but maybe you're banking on them being unwilling to speak with the police.

They probably are unbanked and carry cash.

That said, I'm not robbing someone who is using a weed eater or an edger.

And they also might not have any papers, may have some legal problems and have no insurance.

In any case, this just shows the contrast between people who actually work for money and those who are parasites.

I could be wrong, but I suspect these guys have more cash on them than four random office workers going out to lunch.

I'm fairly well off. I never carry cash because I have things like Google Pay and my credit cards. If I were stealing things, cash would be the preferable thing to steal. Stolen credit cards don't last very long and using them are a lot more risky.

Poor people, and old people use cash more than everyone else.

You really went for the low hanging fruit there.

I disagree.  I found this post quite edger-y.

My guess?  The guy who did it knows the owner, and is simply getting him his money back.

That's right, It was a plant.

Fancy_Bear: Obviously racial profiling was involved in the selection of the victims.

That was honestly my guess. Punching down against folks who are statistically less likely to report crimes, and terrorizing people they hate anyway.

Counterpoint: if you are going to rob someone, rob someone who the police could care less about.

/often the poor are attacked
/sometimes by other than corporations
/yes, I'm also trolling the grammar nazis

//but, admittedly, it is probably a cash-heavy business for a variety of "legal" reasons...

In the video, at the end, one of the workers asks another worker "how much did you have" and the second one says "$550"

Not a bad score if each one had around 500 bucks on them.

Also? many laborers don't have bank accounts, credit cards (or even papers...) so they usually deal in, and carry, cash.
