Who?  Oh, just the HEAD of CPAC.

When you actually lead the biggest annual gathering of scum and villainy in existence, you don't get to deny it.

Stage design conspiracies are outrageous and slanderous. We have a long standing commitment to the Jewish community. Cancel culture extremists must address antisemitism within their own ranks. CPAC proudly stands with our Jewish allies, including those speaking from this stage.

What a giant crock of shiat!  Also, asshole, Nazi symbolism isn't only an affront to Jews, it's an affront to all of us.  This symbol was obviously used on purpose and you can't do anything but deflect.  You are a humongous bastard and CPAC should be burned to the ground!

2021-03-02 7:50:15 AM
There is no chance that stage design wasn't intentional.

Always amazes me how they can claim to be pro-Israel while gleefully embracing anti-semitism.  But we've been down this rhetorical road a thousand times.  Israel is just a means to and end for them.

And now thanks to Trump they can further hide behind the movement of the embassy.

Hey now.  No need to disparage villains and scum by associating them with this lot.

They're just going for a Big Tent strategy!

You ain't fooling anyone with that crap, Matt.

That noted, feigning outrage after people noted what that design was is part for the course with these perennial victims.

This type of shiat has been happening so frequently that I'm not willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. This is just like those Facebook ads Stephen Miller made that just happened to be 14 words long, had 88 variations, and featured the upside down red triangle the Nazis used to mark political dissidents.

I really want to Schlapp the taste out of that man's mouth sometimes.

2021-03-02 8:47:02 AM
Either everyone involved in the design and approval of the stage was utterly incompetent at their job, or CPAC is an organization that supports Nazism and its related anti-Semitical belief systems. One of them is true.

I mean, both could be true. But one of them has to be.

Because they are pro-end-of-the-world, and getting the Jews their homeland back is how Jesus comes back and ends the world.

I assume all right wingers love nazi symbology at all times. It's never actually steered me wrong in life.

Just because you have some Jews who embrace your brand of hatred doesn't mean you're not a Nazi. Just as people calling out some Jews for their bad behavior doesn't make them anti-Semitic

The GOP really have decided that negative attention really is better than no attention, at all.

I refuse to believe that this was an accident. It's so obvious it's ridiculous.

Why should the GOP face criticism for racist symbology that someone else noticed?

We have a long standing commitment to the Jewish community. Cancel culture extremists must address antisemitism within their own ranks.

And everyone just... allows that sentence to hang? without pointing out that
a) they invited a pretty virulent anti-Semite to speak at CPAC...
2) ...only to disinvite him - "canceling him", you might call it - once his public Twitter profile was read by someone who cared about anti-Semitism as something other than an imagined killing word for woke-ists; and
three) motes and beams, Schlappy. Motes and farkin beams.

Anyone pushing "cancel culture" has a shiat message they're trying to sell you while also giving it cover.

Good ideas don't get "cancelled" but hateful unpopular ones get ignored.

Being ignored isn't being "Cancelled" being "canceled" happens because things are failures.

A "well known" Nazi symbol that I had never heard of until this moment. Ooookay ...

2021-03-02 8:58:55 AM
I had to look that up. Seems pretty on the nose for a coincidence.

The rendition of the Odal rune with wings or feet (serifs) was the badge of the SS Race and Settlement Main Office, which was responsible for maintaining the racial purity of the NaziSchutzstaffel (SS) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odal_(rune)

Ive assmbled a lot of stages, unless that stahe is built and bolted furectly to that hotel lobby it was trucked in from somewhere.

The stair ramps being angled off the thrust make sense, the excess back catwalks contorted that way is a trip hazard and liability outside of aesthetics.

It was trucked in and built to fit that space.

It was intentionally designed that way.

Makes me wonder why THEY cancelled the dude who thinks Judaism itself is a conspiracy and doesn't really exist.

I'd say maybe a little too on the nose?  But dat stage!

So did the Nazis.

Just because you're ignorant of facts doesn't mean everyone is.

Once you finally get passed the developmental abilities of a 6 year old you'll discover people don't collectively share the knowledge you do, and likewise, others possess information and experiences that you don't.

Give it a couple years, once you're out of diapers your brain might just get there.

And suddenly liberals are OK with intelligent design!  Why can't the stage have just evolved that way?

This might be the best argument yet. You are correct, it is hard to except that there would be a Nazi symbol you would not be familiar with.

Imagine if a left-of-center organization, technically separate from the Democratic party, had yearly conferences and had a stage design one year that was slightly reminiscent of a hammer and sickle.

We'd be hearing right-wing pundits mentioning that for literally decades

Being 'canceled' includes losing your job, being expelled from school for being a "hater", getting banned from social media, having your business thrown off web servers and refused service from credit card companies. That's a lot more than ignoring, that's a deliberate campaign to erase someone's existence.

2021-03-02 9:07:49 AM
Forget the symbol, look at what they talk about, who they bring out to talk, and what they farking do.

Anyone not swayed by that isn't going to care about a stage, there should be enough out there to bury them but for some reason people don't care.
