Fauci vs. SD Gov Kristi Noem: 'The numbers don't lie'

Speaking of which, whatever happened to those statistics that were redirected from heath to cdc so trump could fudge the numbers? is there any way to find out what the real numbers were? And I'm assuming here that we are getting the real numbers now.

Because no one with a brain or sense of community would spend the weekend in a political circlejerk, spreading COVID and worshipping state officials.

It's a cult.

For what it's worth, the video only showed like 25% of the audience standing.  Still a cult, just not as impressive a moment as the quote makes it sound.

As Noem touts her state has the nation's lowest unemployment rate, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports it was about 3 percent in December 2020  - well below the U.S.'s 6.3 unemployment rate.

From the San Diego State study on the economic impact of the sturgis rally

If we conservatively assume that all of our estimated Sturgis-related cases were non-fatal,
then these cases represent a cost of about $12.2 billion, based on the statistical cost of a COVID- 19 case of $46,000 estimated by Kniesner and Sullivan (2020).41 This is enough to have paid each of the estimated 462,182 rally attendees $26,553.64 not to attend.

One way or another, we'll know excess deaths and hospital admissions in a couple years. I think that's typically how they view it after the fact anyway.

I wouldn't doubt if the real death toll is double what we're seeing. My grandmother died from it. I know it wasn't recorded as a COVID death, because her state's Governor and legislature had rushed to pass a bill to not consider COVID deaths of residents in nursing homes or assisted living as COVID deaths. And that shiat ripped through her nursing home, infected nearly everyone, killed a bunch, likely contributed to at least a couple strokes and heart attacks within a few months.

Well the hospitals were ordered to redirect the data, so wouldn't they still have that data? And it could be compiled accurately?

Funny*, but that sounds exactly like the way Noem's grandmother's death was reported - the nursing home she was in had COVID cases rip through it, but Noem's grandmother just happened to die of "natural causes" during the outbreak.

*Not funny at all, genuinely sorry for your loss

Sure, and that cost gets paid by individual citizens and insurance companies, not the state. Which is why they had no incentive to stop the rally and every incentive to encourage it.
