Who the hell cares? I'd actually sit through an awards show again if everybody was either fershnickered or baked out of their gourd.

I got high just watching him.

I mean, it couldn't possibly have been the fact that it was like 2am where he was.

This. Dude is probably pulling 12 hour days shooting the show several time zones away and didn't feel like putting on his tuxedo t-short for you.

Good for him if he was.

He was completely blitzed and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that

Ted Lasso has been fantastic and I don't remember being a fan of his before that.  JS and Jamie Curtis were three of the best reasons to watch last night.

Tina Fey being another!

That's why Match Game was so popular back in the day.

So is the new version with Alec Baldwin that airs over the summer - they wait until the judges get a nice buzz going, then bring out the contestants.

ALL HIGH AWARDS SHOW

I *might* watch one then.  With a drunk history vibe.

You could sort it into drunks, stoners, and psychedelics.  (Personally I'd leave out the coke heads and speed people because I find them unbearable).

That's kind of what the Golden Globes usually was. I think the nominees (usually) keep it together okay but supposedly everyone else is usually pretty bombed. Golden Globes is the "fun" awards show for celebrities. Oscars and Emmys they take more seriously

You can't do an awards show without comedy writers.

You don't need to necessarily put them on camera.

/Robin Williams was one of my only exceptions, and not all the time.

He was just giving the proceedings the level of seriousness that they deserve.

This. And he also gave the distinct impression he didn't believe, given the level of competition, he had a chance.

Good on him for his humility.

And being tired.

And being high.

I highly recommend Kodachrome on Netflix.    He has some genuine chops.

And if Billy Murray can wear a hawaiian shirt, Sudeikis can damned well wear whatever the hell he wants.
