I'm so looking forward to another season of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel".
Too bad it took a global pandemic to get me to sit down & watch the first three seasons.

Wait, wait, wait! When did comedy become a d*ck measuring contest?
Apparently, when Berle got into the biz it seems.

Seriously, that had me laughing in tears. Two great performers just riffing back & forth. Gems like this explain all those old TV channels like MeTV, Decades, Antenna TV, etc. Since I am at my folks a LOT due to my dad being in hospice, I catch the occasional show & yesterday one station was running all the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts. Some of those jokes definitely would not work on broadcast TV these days (or even basic cable). But the good ones still made you laugh. You might be cringing while doing it though.

My favorite Henny Youngman joke: a hooker walks up to me and says I'll do anything you want for $50. I gave her 50 bucks and said paint my house

I still use that punchline any time I hear someone going on about "I just have to have _. I'll do anything. I just gotta get one."

A goil came up to me and said she had a bit of hot dog skin stuck in her teeth.

I said well, if he wasn't Jewish before, he is now.

I think the Jack Benny Friars' Club Roast is my favorite of the lot so far.

They were probably talented enough to do it without the writing, but even with it, it was funny and well done!

Comedy, yes; heckling, no.
