It may get signed into law, but will be challenged and overturned. This was decided in 1832, oh and then there's that pesky US Constitution.

Apparently, only Okies are smart enough to determine if it's constitutional.

Withhold federal money until federal laws are recognized. Ronny did it with the drinking age law.

It's political kabuki theater. Now, they can say that they stood up against all the bad things and everything is the fault of Democrats. How the 10 Democrats in Oklahoma do anything anyway....nobody knows. They're like leprechauns...they'll steal your lucky charms.

Great use of taxpayer dollars.  Now re-segregated the bathrooms.

This little place downtown has the Prince symbol, opposed to either male or female, on its one bathroom. It seems to work for them. Honestly, it's probably how all bathrooms should be.

This was dealt with already in Cooper v. Aaron.

Ironically, Oklahoma native James Kirkpatrick was the one who tried to make nullification and interposition happen.

That is probably what a Federal govt. would do. The power of the purse compels you. You don't need an army. Just dangle the $$$$ outside of their reach.

If they want to decide federal laws don't apply to them, then they get no federal benefits: no federal highways through the state, no FEMA help, and put up federal barriers just outside the state to prevent all interstate travel into/out of the state.  Including power.

See how long they last.

Reminds me of the time we took our kids to NYC for their 15th birthday. Fun aside, today is their 30th birthday! But back to my point. We took them to a drag queen show which was the most fun we may have ever had as a family. At some point my son got up to go the the restroom. Now, there were two bathrooms, single stall, one person at a time, so men/women didn't matter. But my guy came back to the table. "One has a ? and the other has a !, which do I use?"

I answered, "how do you feel?"

Because Republicans are slowly tearing this country apart. Republicans can never claim patriotism ever again.  They are treasonous, seditious instigators that have unleashed a mob of mouth-breathing conspiracy theorists who want to murder politicians who won't install Donald Trump as Supreme Leader. This is just one more example.

Which is great because it totally solved the problem of under-age drinking. My entire high school social group (class of '04) agrees, definitely no alcohol at all until we all turned 21.

The outcome is predetermined and known to all, so it's little more than a ritual dance.

That's the big one.

Either the Constitution binds the states, and we are a Union; or it doesn't and we aren't.

This is the first shot in lawful secession, and its going to get worse before it gets any better.

Blue residents of red states should start planning to relocate in the next three years. After the next election you may not be able to.

That's actually the reason Okies still call themselves Democrats, while voting party-line GOP.  Memories are long in Oklahoma, and they know they'd all be dead if the Democrats hadn't saved them from the Dust Bowl.

It's kind of interesting seeing the effluvium bubbling up at CPAC and on Fox Business and realizing that the entire Republican platform now is "more power." Every piece of legislation they pass is about moderating the effects of the things they didn't vote for while maximizing their own impact. They're not actually voting for anything but manipulating the vote, they're not legislating anything but control of the legislature, but none of it is in aid of anything. They don't have any plans for their power except to HAVE it.

It's trickle-down democracy. "We get all the power so you can't have any, but we're not actually going to wield it for any constitutional purposes. We're just gonna HAVE it. Because."
