She has been trying to sue them since the New York Times published their fraudulent book keeping.

This. It's also why I don't complain about repeats here. If I have seen it many have not and it helps spread the message and if I missed it the first one I get informed. They get replies that maybe not everyone reads fark every day yet they persist.

That is why I think those that complain just want to hear their own voice. Or it is a derivative of Boobies!!!

Then bulldozes it and builds a public park, just to spite him.

It is going to be a little hard for Trump to move money around to hide assets if a judgement is declared against him with the FBI and NY both looking at them right now. Of course, she could end up winning and getting nothing
since Trump has pretty much no money and what little is left is likely to get seized by the Feds or NY state.

I laughed because it's friggin true. This actually works. Many polluting corporations get away with what they've done by claiming, "you knew this kind of business made a mess but you didn't call us on it and that was your job, so too bad."

Knew lawyers in NOAA and EPA that had to fight this type of nonsense all the time and they said it worked a lot. Everyone has heard of privatize the profits, socialize the costs because it's a truism. I'm getting real dog damned tired of this corrupt ass country.

The Trump siblings "cannot avoid accountability for their fraud simply because they thought that they had gotten away with it years ago," Mary Trump's lawyer Roberta Kaplan said in Friday's filing.

The statute for fraud is calculated from the date the victim reasonably could have known of the fraud. As long as she got a filing in before that, she can take this all the way until he croaks.

All three siblings robbed her. The federal judge that resigned rather than face a judicial inquiry no doubt has some assets left. Although I have no doubt that Donald farked over his brother and sister too. In fact, we know he did. He tried to take advantage of his Alzheimer's having father by getting him to sign a new will that gave everything to him.

I'm a lawyer with an actual JD instead of a GED, and I cannot comment on the merits without seeing the filings. As a general rule though, a limitations argument of this type is clearly not cut and dry and may require some discovery to flush out, especially if the applicable law says limitations begins to run when the claimant found out, or in the exercise of diligence should have found out.

If she doesn't have the physical proof I'm sure she has enough hearsay to point the investigators in the right direction.

Family and money can make relatives quite vindictive.

She also might live in actual society and wants to distance herself as far from these people as she can.

Don't bulldoze Mar-A-Lago. If it can be financially seized then restore it as best as possible to its historical State. Then turn it over to the city as a conservancy and historical site.

Buy mail-order wife are you referring to the one that fraudulently claimed a Visa that would not have been intended for her and got her parents naturalized under similar fraudulent circumstances? The one that by Trump's own logic should be deported?

If that were true, she would have sued before the serial bankruptcies of the 1990s. Now that Trump is under investigation every where, and already exposed as a cheat and a crook, it's safer and easier to accuse him of other crimes. Otherwise the litigious bastid would just sue, sue, sue. Something he is famous for, seeing as he now, after four years disgracing the Office of President, more than 4,000 lawsuits to his name as plaintiff and defendant.

In a country that executes people, later shown to be not guilty of that particular crime? Most of the justice system seems to be a miscarriage. How much justice can a particular defendant afford?
We have a lot of institutions that need a serious reworking, but none of that will matter if it can be thrown out again in 2 years. First order of business s/b a new Voting Rights Act, and push back everywhere the state legislatures are using voter suppression tactics. Push for mail-in voting everywhere, and let the USPS do what they are supposed to do.
We have 18 months to try and purge the anti-democracy people. They were led by greed this time. Next time it will be by someone who already has money, and just really enjoys hurting people.

Agree 100%.

My assertion was based on the assumption that the federal government would pursue those efforts while these cases happen concurrently at the state (i.e. unpardonable) level.

We are on the same page here in terms of priorities.

The only priority relating to trump** is disqualifying him or anyone comparatively unqualified/unfit from being able to seek office.

I am willing to change some of the lesser priorities if the statute of limitations will run out on some of the crooks. We need to catch and prosecute them all, and hold those trials up as public spectacle to remind people to do the right thing, or pay a price in freedom, not just money.
And yes, we need to drill the point home to the ignorant, that running a "successful", for profit business, has nothing at all, and provides no qualifications for, running a government for the benefit of the citizens, where there is no expectation of "profit".
Being a long time shady, unethical, con man used to be disqualifying just in itself. Remember when "Character Matters"? Pepperidge Farm remembers. Half the country doesn't, and they need a remedial education, and right quick.

Why so much anger at a house? Mar-a-Lago was a private estate, willed to the US Govt for use as a Winter White House for the President (whichever) to use for vacations. No one used it. It was declared surplus to needs and sold off. It just happened it wound up in Trump's tiny hands. It is an historically protected building on the National Register with history beyond Trump's occupancy. It will not be pulled-down. His association with it is unfortunate but Mar-a-Lago is not the problem. It is merely the stage this particular circus currently plays upon. I am an Architectural Historian. That is my degree. Even the most humble building is worth saving by me. Drive down any street into the older part of town or village. You may see a building with broken windows and need of paint. I see a place where the windows were once lit and maybe a Christmas Tree stood in the front window, it's lights all a-twinkle and a-blinkle. I see people going in and out the front door, some celebrating an event, some mourning a passing. I see the store-front window of the Mom & Pop 5 & 10 filled with rare and beautiful things. I see someone standing across the street pointing at it with pride: I (designed, built, own) that.

The building is not the problem. It is as much a victim of Trump as anyone else. Why do so many want to exact their revenge on a building? I realize the frustration in not being able to take down Trump, but Mar-a-Lago did nowt. It's just a large house built by a woman who sold books on etiquette, who tried to make American lives better through her philosophy of manners. That her dream home would become the lair of one of the crassest and crudest men in America is horrible irony and enough shame and degradation to mar the history of a once grander estate.

Do you want to punish Trump? Put windmills to generate electricity on both the Mar (sea) and Lago (lake) sides of his estate so that he cannot escape viewing them, then hook his home to them so he has to pay for the electricity generated by them. It won't hurt the house but it will anger Trump no end until his dying day, whether in prison or not. Unlike Trump, the windmills will provide something positive and useful for America, and he will seeth day and night.

Lurk Who's Talking: The building is not the problem. It is as much a victim of Trump as anyone else.

I already disliked everything about the man, but this article nearly made my blood boil

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/16/us/politics/donald-trump-butler-mar-a-lago.html

[Mrs. Post] imported stone from Genoa, Italy, and 16th-century Flemish tapestries that she protected by drawing the drapes in the brightest hours. (They faded after Mr. Trump bought the place and blasted the living room with sunlight.)

THAT is everything hateful about Trump.  He does not care about what was before.  He does not care about conservation.  He just wants it in his hand for his consumption, and when its gone he wants it back so he can consume it again.  He is a spoiled brat.
