So the one termer with the lowest approval rating ever who was impeached twice and had no agenda the first time around is going to talk about his agenda in 2024. Can't wait.

Of course he will.  He wants to keep the gravy train running as long as he can.

Can someone translate that for me?

Only the GOP would stick with a  loser. I mean, you don't see Hillary anywhere near the Dem candidate list these days. Everyone knows the score.

We'll see what America does in 2024... if somehow the U.S. voting system decides Donald Trump (or any other Trump or Trump-i-lite) should be POTUS again... my kid will be in 2nd year of college wherever (possibly Iceland if they have their way), a "busy" day at my office was 20 out of 70 employees in the office pre-COVID, and now is like 3-4, so, mobile working is a-ok, and my wife is a polysomnographic technician/Respiratory Therapist and can get a job wherever, so, I'll be perfectly fine in saying "Good luck USA, I'm out".

You can still run for president if you're in prison. The only way he doesn't run is if he's disqualified by Congress or he's dead

As near as I can tell, it's "The REAL Republicans support Trump, not you career politicians who are out of touch with the common man."  But there's a certain threatening note to it, like "And we outnumber you, so don't push it."

'Trump is planning' - no, Trump reacts like a nerve he doesn't plan.
If he itches, he scratches; if he wants attention he says something crazy etc.
He does not plan.

It's good timing, 2024. Both of my kids will be graduated from high school, nothing holding me here. If America chooses the path of decline I can leave. There's a lot of really good expat places around the world if you have the means, and I've been working virtual for years now.

Most Republicans have so tied their identity to Trump they perceive any criticism of Trump to be an attack on themselves.

Low approval, but a lot of that disapproval comes from a combination of people who don't turn up to vote and people who still vote for him anyway.

I don't think we can write off Trump in 2024.

He turned out the biggest GOP electorate in history, getting far more Republican voters to the polls than during his first election, which is unusual. The GOP can't ditch him.

At the same time the State GOPs have gone full Cult. If he's running in 2024 I reckon a lot of the GOP controlled legislatures in States that went Blue statewide this time around will directly appoint electors if they think a Democrat will win the state election.

The lazy motherfarker won't actually run.  He'll just use the campaign to do a lot of grifting to cover his forthcoming legal bills, but he'll come up with a bullshiat excuse at the last minute as to why he can't actually take the job.

If Democrat voting complacency is anything like 2016, he'll be in play again. The next 3 years will be spent wearing us down in the attempt to keep his minority frothing long enough to make it to the polls.

2021-02-27 1:38:52 AM
Unless they can come up with a more charismatic candidate, I think Trump has the strongest chance. His likelyhood of dying before then is high, though. Even if he does there is a high chance another like him will follow. Plenty of people want to get that spot, now that they know they can. A lot of people want to be a dictator, though only a few have the charisma and following.

The Trump flags still fly in my rural area. Trump told lots of people what they wanted to hear, and acted out the sort of "values" they want front and center. Unless the democrats deliver in a very serious fashion, it's very likely there will be another republican government.

I got sick of laughing at Trump a long time ago, but after the January 6 incident, I can't laugh at him at all. It may seem silly, but shiat like that is silly until it works... And it very well could have worked. And it's extremely clear the R party has collectively decided to stick by Trump and the values of Trump.

Unlikely.  We've had 4 years of evidence that voting can mean the difference between life and death.

He was the first major politician to listen to their  decades long grievances that were either ignored or actively  worked against their interests.

SlamPuff: Good lord - Obama and 2010 utterly broke these people.

It's finally occurred to them that the tide, when it turns -- and it will turn -- is going to put them at the mercy of the people they've been abusing.

And because they have no imagination and no empathy, they expect the new leaders to think and act just like they do.

Imagine living your life in such a way that you're terrified of being treated the way you've treated others.
