My grandmother dropped out of school in the third grade to take care of her seriously ill parents and siblings.  Later, she abandoned my mother and her two brothers to join the Women's Army Core, to be raised by a harsh and unloving grandmother. When I was growing up, my mother would abandon me and my sister to go to bars on weekdays and casinos on the weekends.  You could say there's not a lot of maternal instincts in my family.

You can't give what you ain't got, and there weren't not a lot o' love in our household.
