So basically, Zlatan thinks citizens don't have the right to speak up? Yeah, sounds pretty fascist to me, Z man...

Yeah, f*ck you Zlatan. Say what you will about Lebron, the dude does do a hell of a lot for the community. The fact that someone of his stature encourages people to vote and get involved does have a big impact. Not to mention he built a damn school for underprivileged kids

2021-02-26 5:04:48 PM
Lebron can do what he wants. Zlatan can do what he wants. I can do what I want.

Zlatan's just this guy, you know?

He's just "outspoken"

I would've said that Zlatan told LeBron to shut up and dribble. And just like the fascist biatch who said that line, Zlatan can go fark off for all I care.

/should note that LeBron does own a small part of Liverpool FC

2021-02-26 5:27:48 PM
I mean, yeah, LeBron would probably be happier if he focused only on sports and didn't feel compelled to help make things better for those who grew up in similar circumstances to his own minus the absurd athletic ability.

But, y'know...that's kinda the thing about privilege. When you have it and don't use it to help level the playing field for those that don't, you're wrong.

What is it with people and their "stop liking what I don't like"

If only people on reality tv shows only stuck to reality tv shows.  Only somewhat the point really.  Is no one supposed to have an opinion on matters?  Ok, LeBron is great at playing basketball.  That doesn't mean it's his only thoughts as a person.  George Clooney is a pretty good actor.  That doesn't mean he should only think of movies.  Sonny Bono wrote some decent tunes.  Doesn't mean he should've gone skiing.

Hey Zlatan, Fark you. Stick to grass diving and flopping.

2021-02-26 5:49:04 PM
Lebron comes off as an entitled douche, but so does every famous athlete, actor, and musician who sees what they perceive as injustice in the world and tries to use their stature to do something about it.  And I'd do the same if I could.  So good on him.

Lebron is seldom the second most annoying person in a headline, so at least we have that to fall back on.

FTFA: "I play football because I'm the best at playing football.

Diving on the grass and writhing in fake agony isn't something to boast about, you soft-ass little biatch.

"Stay out of it. Just do what you do best because it doesn't look good."

That is stupid, "doesn't look good" to who? Him? fark him.

If somebody has a prominent position in society and wishes to change that which they perceive as wrong, they have a moral responsibility to speak out if they believe it could help. That doesn't mean by default that they're right or that they're informed on the matters which drive them but such people not being allowed to say what is on their minds should also then be applied to every single guy and gal on the planet. If people can only talk about what they do for a living and nothing else there'd be an awful lot of boredom going around.

I will say that when you do make statements about a particular issue, then it results in you getting a lot of "BuT wHaT aBoUt ChInA"-type disingenuous BS from people who couldn't care less about genocide, but want to discredit you as an advocate for your cause.

And that is something that I'm sure discourages many people from using the spotlight to shine it on the needs of others.

Life is a lot easier if you DGAF about anyone but yourself and the hedonism of the moment.

...but I don't think that "everyone should just become a narcissist" is a good solution to that problem. I think that it would be better if, as a society, we started to make things a bit more miserable for people who only care about themselves.

/and even worse for people who go out of their way to pick on those who have it worse than them

But whatever you do don't mention the crap going on in china.

I like to hate on Lebron as much as the next guy, but he mostly stays in his lane politically. Loved when he called Trump a bum when he 'retracted' his invitation to the Warriors to come to the White House.

Zlatan has always been an asshole, and he will always be an asshole. Until he stops being an asshole, ignore the shiat coming out of his mouth.

Zlatan is pretty much one of the last people that I'd ever consider listening to their opinion on the human experience/life.

I want to know what John McEnroe has to say about what Zlatan has to say about LeBron. And I want it in the form of an Op Ed by Michael Phelps in Yahoo Sports.

I still think MJ is better than Bron (it's becoming 50/50 at this point though) but what LeBron does in terms of uplifting his community makes me think he's a really good man. He is using his platform for good. Will always respect him for that. Zlatan is a punk biatch btw, always has been. Seems like a bad person.

McEnroe is far more chill today than he used to be. And he was more of a privileged crybaby than an asshole.

/but his temper tantrums will always be available for our amusement

I want the OP Ed to be by Ryan Lockte, he is the man and knows what's going on!

It is quite political to restrict who is allowed to participate in public discourse.

Why is this morons opinion being sought?  He's a good player but he's not even the best player of his era, LeBron is in the discussion of greatest to ever play his game.
