This is a stupid article. It is nothing even remotely as stupid as the Walker trade. Not even close. Not by a mile. Everyone knew the Walker trade was bad when it happened 30 freakin' years ago and no one even gave a shiat about draft picks back then. It's also never happening. No way. No how. Stupid article.

Quarterbacks are fungible!

Houston's history is such that if anyone's getting screwed on a Watson trade, it's them.

So this guy wrote an entire article about a hypothetical trade? Sheesh.

Next up: Should the Packers trade Aaron Rodgers to the Lakers for LBJ and 2 hacky sacks?

Note to the author, Kirk Cousins is not an above average QB.

Lemme think this through. Here is each NFL starting QB other than Cousins, followed by my "is he better than Cousins?" gut reaction (Y/N, or M for maybe). Assessments are based on value demonstrated through 2020 and not potential.

NFCE - Prescott Y, Hurts N, Smith N, Jones M
NFCN - Rodgers Y, Trubisky N, Goff N
NFCS - Winston/Hill N, Ryan Y, Brady Y, Bridgewater M
NFCW - Wilson Y, Stafford Y, Murray M, Garoppolo N
AFCE - Allen Y, Newton N, Tua/Fitz N, Darnold N
AFCN - Roethlisberger M, Mayfield Y, Jackson Y, Burrow N
AFCS - Tannehill Y, Watson Y, Wentz N, Minshew N
AFCW - Mahomes Y, Carr Y, Lock N, Herbert Y

Obviously the 2021 draft and free agency are going to change some names here (looking at you, Minshew, no offense). I penciled in Newton for New England but who knows what happens there. But as of now, I count 14 Ys, 4 Ms and 13 Ns. That puts Cousins smack in the middle tier. Start to factor potential into the mix and maybe flip Burrow, Murray, Tua and Trevor Lawrence into the Y category and, yeah, Cousins is starting to look more like a low-middle type.

This ends my comprehensive analytic analysis of NFL quarterbacks. Your assertion checks out.

Super Chronic: analytic analysis

That was some redundant redundancy on my part, sorry

Give him a line where he's not constantly running for his life and Borrow is far and away better than Cousins

either of those trades are almost worth it seeing as we get well shot of Cousins.  I do not see Houston going for it and the Vikings seem insanely attached to Cousins for some reason i cannot fathom.

He could be, but only with an above average offensive line. Which they haven't had in a long, long, time. And Zimmer will want those draft choices for more defensive players. Like he always does.
A QB isn't what the Vikings need. A couple of players like McDaniel, Zimmerman, Hutchinson, Birk, or Dixon would help immensely. If you give away top draft choices, you have no chance to draft or trade for that talent.

Every time I look at statistics for Cousins I have to shake my head in amazement. He looks way better on paper than he does on the field. I'm sometimes impressed with his abilities, which is quickly followed by an unexplainable interception. He does not do well under pressure. So I guess he is pretty average.

I think any team would be crazy to give up a lot for Watson now. The Rams gave up a lot for Stafford but that deal is worth it for the Rams. With the pieces they have, including a good defense, they can look forward to a probable SB appearance if not win with a QB upgrade, assuming he stays healthy.

Right now, I see no other team one QB upgrade away from the Super Bowl and they also have enough pieces to trade that won't gut their team. If you're a 6-10 team why go through the trouble and cost of getting Watson if it'll turn out you'll still be a 6-10 team?

In short, the Rams deal was the best deal any team looking to trade their QB will get this offseason, and Detroit not Houston scored on that deal.

That Tampa Bay team was STACKED before they got Brady, Gronk and then Brown.  Winston was just so bad I didn't even notice it.

Yep, in some games or plays Cousins looks great...and then he stands there and either doesn't notice the pressure coming or he sees it and then stares at it while he takes a 5-10 yard sack...maybe throw in a crazy INT or fumble there too for kicks.

I have to say that watching Heinicke in the WFT vs Bucs game in the playoffs this year, I was so blown away how good Heinicke was (yes, there was no tape on him really and Bucs were missing 2 big defensive pieces)...like...I was excited watching the offense be an actual offense!  Who knew offenses were supposed to score TDs and/or FGs!?!

/watching the highlights of that game brings back that excitement....
//only to be crushed by the fact that we're still owned by Dan Snyder

Interceptions are more than just turnovers. If we assume each team will have 10 possessions during the game, one interception flips that to 9 for one team, 11 for the other team. That's digging your team into a deep hole all by itself.

Hacky sacks are you crazy. You know how many blown out knees I've seen while playing. They could take down the entire Packers team.

Were Bjorn or Ragnar quoted in the article? Will this happen before or after Ragnarok?
