As long as there are adolescent males of all ages, there will be Beavis and Butthead.   The music video reactions are still the best part of the show.

uh hu uh uh, i luv beavis and butthead. and daria. especially daria. because is was born in 1980 and Mtv was banned in my house, so watching it was a wildly subversive act when i was 13 and they were new, and it was just plain fun after that.

BUT "reviving" it is likely to fail. Mtv doesn't even show videos anymore (nope. it's ridiculousness or some random movie showed 8 times in a row. and that is all.) and PETA won't let us have frog baseball, even as a nonsense cartoon. beavis and butthead commenting over tiktoks is unlikely to work.....

not everything can be "brought back".

BUT mike judge DID give us Office Space AND Idiocracy, so he's a legit genius prophet, right? in this man's mind maybe anything is possible?

long live beavis! long live butthead! and i am cornholio!

Mugato: weddingsinger: Jesus, 25 years later, who cares?

It's a trend in movies and TV now, rebooting things 10-20 years too late.

The last run on MTV in like 2011 was pretty damn good, but MTV reportedly got pissed when Beavis and Butt-Head started making fun of shows like Jersey Shore since they didn't have a lot of music videos to watch. So it got cancelled after a season.

Oh ya never know. This 'Mike Judge' fellow seems to have a unique perspective on topical issues. Could very well be pretty f*cking funny.

/Sure as f*ck ain't subscribing to Paramount+ though.

They were watching Teen Mom, and the "dad" (biologically speaking) was playing video games w/ his friends, talking about really dumb shiat. Beavis: "Hey Butthead, we're smarter than these guys!" And it was true. That's when I stopped laughing, b/c holy fark, we're so screwed.

Exactly, and the lack of them in the DVD releases is why they never sold well.

Did you catch the season they did in 2011? If you haven't, give a look. They started ripping the reality shows to farking pieces.

Snooki: standing in front of an eraser board: "so we did the hookup board, to see if you might have swapped spit with someone you didn't know about" (or something similar).  Butthead, in an awestruck voice: "If you do this chart long enough? You can find out where herpes began!"

Teen mom: "blahblah random dumb shiat" Beavis: "Wait, this is reality? So she's not a bad actress. Just a bad person".

/bring that shiat
//hoped for a full season

Mike Judge is a National Treasure:
King of the Hill -  Dale Gribble was once an absurd cartoon character - turns out he was the archetype for 1/3 of modern Americans. Hank Hill was another version of a stereotypical modern Conservative American, but he actually learned and grew as a person instead of digging in his heels and wallowing in ignorance.

Office Space and Idiocracy are both relevant and often cited pop culture references

I'd love to see more Tales from the Tour Bus, too

Paramount + is running a 50% off a yearly sub so I might do that. $30 for a year isn't bad.
