NM Volunteer: EatenTheSun: NM Volunteer: My friends are as working class as me, so it is a matter of time.  Or rather, time off.

And none of them trust you enough to loan you a truck and trailer for a few days.

I'm public sector, I don't drive other people's vehicles without authorization from their insurance company.  We keep things legal.

Besides, I can't lift furniture by myself.

Excuses are cheap.

NM Volunteer: jst3p: NM Volunteer:

Not everybody is wealthy enough for long-distance relocation, and not everybody is destitute enough to drop what little they have and take a Greyhound across state lines.

So people don't have enough money to move. Also, people are too poor to move?

Interesting positions to hold simultaneously.

Moving furniture is expensive, and can't be transported on a Greyhound.  So homeless and destitute people and people kicked out of their houses with just a suitcase full of clothes can just travel by Greyhound, everybody else has to get a U-Haul or else sell their furniture.  And since they might get 50% back by selling their furniture, it will get costly to replace everything unless they buy super-cheap replacements.  Moving for me is quite expensive because I have a nice mahogany bedroom set from long-dead relatives that I could never afford to replace.  I try to keep things simple, but moving across town was still a few hundred dollars last month.

So basically, people with nothing can afford to get a bus ticket and move.
People with a lot of money can move without care.
People in between have to get loans to afford relocation, because relocation is expensive.

I was in between. I sold all my shiat and moved because I needed to get out of Florida. ANYONE can move. It may not be easy, but it can be done.

GrizzlyPouch: vygramul: Murkanen: vygramul: I can't wait for the lefties on facebook to blame Biden for this, saying it's proof he's basically a Republican.

11 posts denouncing the judge and Republicans, and you come in to show your ass by complaining about liberals.

Have you tried not doing that in every thread you show up in?  It's a bit monotonous at this point.

No, I'm not talking liberals. I'm talking about people further left than that who have no problem attacking liberals. People posting shiat like this:

Naive, idealistic and unachievable without too great a cost.  That's liberalism in a nut shell.

That's why you guys as a political party literally survive on demonizing the other guys (by calling them -ists).

Like "socialists"?

*eyeroll*

Do you?

I read what you post, but I almost always immediately regret having done so.

What's blue on the outside but red on the inside? We need to call "liberals" who only seem to criticize progressives after that.

"Libertarian"?

Like "socialists" or "communists"?

Get bent.

I can speak about my landlord.

As soon as all this sh*t started he called me and explicitly said NO ONE IS GETTING KICKED OUT.  He asked me to be a good communicator.  He asked me to do what I could.  But he promised that I would have a place to live.

That is fantastic, and I am entirely glad for you.  I find that the smaller the number of units a landlord controls, and the more involved they are in that control, the more in tune with their tenants they tend to be.  And yeah, I have dealt with a LOT of landlords in a couple positions in my life.  There is, of course, a chicken and egg thing wherein some landlords get the shiate of the crop of tenants too, which tends to make some of them REALLY bitter.  And, as I haven't met every landlord everywhere, feel free to take my personal observations with a gigantic grain of salt.  Heh.
