Per ESPN:

"Rodgers said Wilson has told the Seahawks that he wants to play in Seattle but if a trade were considered, the only teams he would go to are the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders and Chicago Bears."

Why would he want to go to a perennial loser like the Jets when he could go to consistently dominant teams like the Cowboys, Raiders, or Bears.  Oh, wait...

You'd think he would look for teams with solid offensive lines

The Cowboys kind of fit that mold (although some of their guys are bit past prime) and the Raiders line is pretty darn good.

The Saints probably have the best line from that list (actually quite good despite my own comments) but the others I would say are well below middle of the pack

This.

If reports that Drew Brees is going to announce his retirement sometime soon are legit, then Wilson going to the Saints would make perfect sense - similar talent, but younger more mobile QB.

However, Wilson's other preferences are....questionable.

The offensive line excuse is just that.

$58M dead cap in 2021 with an opt-out after the 2021 season.

Wilson knows he's got the Seahawks in a corner.

Don't fall for the "he loves Seattle" BS, it's all about busine$$.

Willie Roaf could come back and he would be more mobile than Drew Brees.

I'm confused by your point. Willie Roaf isn't a QB.

Get rid of Pete Carrol imo.  Teams have no problem moving on from players but sometimes they are glued to their coaches.   I'm not even saying he's a bad coach.  I'm just saying he's not the coach the seahawks need at this time.

Wow haven't heard that name in a while.  Good dude.

Oh, Roaf's old man shuffle back to every huddle was amazing. He'd then pull a Willy Wonka and absolutely pancake someone the next play, too.

As a Niners fan, I too would like to see Russell Wilson play for a different team.

I, too, would like to live in New Orleans, Las Vegas,

Sorry. New Orleans, Las Vegas, Miami, Chicago, or NY...if my wife's career or my chasing women was a priority.

I don't know what to believe about the Wilson rumors, but I believe we can all stipulate that a Wilson trade would require (1) a shiatload of draft capital, including multiple first-round picks (one of which is a high 2021 pick), (2) a young quarterback with real talent, and (3) no substantial salaries going back to Seattle, given Wilson's $39 million dead-cap hit. The Saints are 0 for 3. In fact, I don't think any of the four teams listed by Wilson come close to satisfying this.

Miami has these things. The Jets possibly have these things. If either of those teams were on Wilson's list, this might really have legs.

Trade you straight up for Mike Tomlin.

Good to see Eric Kramer getting some love.

But yeah, get Wilson, whatever it takes

I don't think he wants to leave Seattle but he wants to win and is tired of the vanilla game plan. I think this is him flexing his muscles and trying to turn the team around before its too late.

They won the division and top ten in points scored and they named some losers for him to go to. Sooo, I don't feel very good about your theory.
