About 80% of my coworkers have had it, last week I lost two friends to it, and now my son may have caught it at school (waiting on test results).

Fark COVID and fark all those who put others at risk by refusing to take absolutely minimal steps to prevent the spread.

I have a really nasty hate of people who won't take the least effort. when I got sick I went into full lockdown for almost a month just to be sure. when I see people without masks it makes me stabby. I took one for the team and you think the world revolves around you? I wish serious ill on these people.

I wonder if Bercerra says that during the confirmation hearings Republicans would back him?

1 death is a tragedy.
1000 deaths is a statistic.
500k deaths is an abomination.
RIP to all of them.

F*ck.

I vaccinated a guy today whose sister died yesterday of covid.

Needless.

Completely and utterly needless and one party kowtows to the f*cker that let this happen while pretending to be outraged at mean tweets by a woman of color.

F'n, ever loving worthless POS hypocrites

When a person dies of covid-19, you can probably look backwards at the person who passed it on to them, or the person who passed it on to that person, or back one or two or three generations of transmission further back, and find someone who was careless.

Carelessness is significant. It allows you to get infected because you couldn't be bothered to take precautions. And it allows you to infect others because you can't be bothered to protect others even if you don't realize that you are actually infectious.

Some can't help it. They are authentically "essential". It's possible that someone becomes a vector for transmission despite all their best efforts to avoid becoming infected, and all their best efforts to avoid subsequently infecting someone else. However, there are others in the chain. The careless.

They could have mattered. They could have been the ones that broke the chain, either by avoiding becoming infected, or by avoiding passing on the infection. In each chain of infection, there are almost certainly a significant number of these careless people.

Don't be one of them. Do your part. Stay safe for yourself. Stay safe for the rest of us. Do your part to end this.

Maybe he should challenge the GOP senators. "Hey, do you want me to say to Americans, 'We want you infected!'? Because my predecessor did, and you voted for him. Just want to know where you limits are."

My mom's best friend had COVID, a few months back. Was on oxygen, and almost died through that part. She was in a nursing home due to surviving a brain aneurysm 20 some years ago. Today my mom found out her friend has a brain bleed, and won't make it. They are not sure if she had something wrong with her before she got COVID, and it made it worse, or COVID caused the brain bleed. Either way it sounds like she was not getting a lot of doctoring done in this nursing home. My mom is not handling this well at all. They have been best friends since the third grade.

Oh damn. I hope your son doesn't have it. I hope you have a way to keep him home at least some of the time.

Look where Microsoft Bing puts the pictures of Fauci. I want tot ake this opportuinty to say, I started using Bing for news in 2015 when it flooded me with outright lies about HIllary Clinton, and in 2016, was about 50% articles praising Trump on my landing page. And they were from CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, which is why I really do not see NBC or CNN as the left wing orgs that Americans do. Anyhow, Bing, as  a search engine, is clearly optimized to deny Covid and deny the Democratic Party any support  - any support at all. I can't believe that this is even legal.

He's 14, so staying home by himself isn't an issue. And my wife, a nurse, has the ability to work from home if need be. School is only two days a week in person currently.

I would like to extend a simple congrats to all of us, still typing, still breathing, still living. 500,000 dead in this country is unimaginable.  I can't help pausing once a day thinking of the dead.
Be safe, suit up with a mask.

If only the elected representatives on the nutty right weren't doing everything humanly possibly to undermine the CDC, science, and common sense at every turn to actively undermine the CDC and all best practices to actually fight this damn virus:

"What? We arewearing a masks!"

/Local whackadoodles have been wearing masks made of mesh netting material to 'protect their freedumbs', and stores are too chicken to call them out on it despite a statewide mask mandate.
//Trump has more blood on his hands than any other US president in history - his proud defiance of any and all measures to fight COVID and making common sense a partisan issue killed half a million Americans so far... and counting.

Um...

If there is a good chance that your son is infected, EVERYONE in your household should be self-quarantining until you all get negative test results.  You're insinuating that you and/or your wife aren't yet ("if need be"), so for all you know you could be an asymptomatic carrier and may just have doomed someone else's grandma by not staying home.

/In case you're wondering why this shiat didn't just "go away by itself" a year ago: this is exactly why.
