I appreciated his commitment to keep politics out of the Justice Department.

This doesn't feel right.

Republicans will have a problem with him when he starts prosecuting white terrorists.

Let's hope he arrests Hawley and Gym Jordan as soon as he is sworn in

Senate confirmation, not Congressional. House has no say

Only if he Garland will commit to keep politics out of the DOJ, specifically by allowing the special prosecution of Hunter Biden's laptop to continue.

Although that may be part of McConnell's plan to support Garland. If there's a split in the Republican Party, it's in Mitch's best interest to have the blatant racists in prison while he grabs money for the subtle racists wing of the party.

The deal has already been cut, get over it. A couple of Proud Boy power bottoms will be as high as it goes I am afraid.

Funny that Biden has asked all Trump appointed Assistant Attorney Generals in the DOJ to resign, except for the one investigating Hunter.

"despite evading key questions pertinent to conservatives' concerns. "

More like "even though he disregarded multiple silly, useless questions that wasted everyone's time".

He is a true American.

His answers were short, concise and to the point.  However, he did not pull any punches, literally is whiter than white bread, squeaky clean, has no skeletons, and a true patriot.

the GOP know they cannot burn him because literally his shiat smells like roses.

The consistent pattern is: If the nominee is white, they sail through. If they are a POC, obstacles are thrown up and the nomination is in jeopardy.

It's funny how keeping politics out of the Justice Department only works in favor of Republicans. Because they were the only ones guilty of putting politics in it to begin with, and because they're part of a criminal conspiracy, they know Garland won't come after them for fear of being seen as a political witch hunter, or they already have the talking points ready when he does come after them so they can muddy the waters in order to evade justice.

The GOP have been delighted at the arrest and prosecution of the little people they lied to and worked up into a murderous frenzy and are now gleefully throwing under a bus. (Not expressing sympathy for the racist treacherous little shiats by the way, just noting that their adored masters have no sympathy either)

You would THINK at some point their 'base' would get the point but it seems unlikely.

The GOP are quite happy to get Garland off the DC Circuit.

They will probably obstruct his nominated replacement.

Merrick Garland is what we used to call a moderate Republican.

Guilt-confirmation. Most of them probably thought he should have been on the Supreme Court, but didn't want to upset daddy, so they played along at the time. Forget two-party politics, party affiliation has ruined politics. Anything that prevents you from voting your conscience is a problem.
