lifeslammer: Rwa2play: lifeslammer: 151: Come to think of it, the heart of the discussion was not that basketball players were tougher, but had more endurance, agility, etc than hockey.

Point still stands. NHL plays the same number of games as NBA, less minutes AT A TIME, sure, but last I looked the nhl stars played only slightly less total minutes per game than NBA stars... BUT ON ICE. WITH CONTACT BEING THE MAIN FEATURE OF THE GAME. Tell me LeBron is gonna be anything like GOAT right now if Luka is allowed to hip check him mid-layup.

LeFlop would go down harder than a hockey player slamed into the wall if someone poked him while he was walking

NHL Playoffs > NBA Playoffs.  Remember, 20 minutes an OT, next goal wins.

/Still remembers that PIT/PHI 5 OT classic.
//All respect to NBA players but...
///Imagine having to play 2 games straight +

And baseball still holds it with an 8 hour tie game

Test cricket is wondering why everyone's in such a blasted hurry...

RaceDTruck: Hockey players are the toughest athletes in sports.

I once had this argument with a good friend whose opinion I usually respect and agree with. He was arguing on behalf of basketball being the "tough guy sport".

He tried to make good points, I even agreed with one I think. But... No. Just no. Not even close. Not football. Not soccer. Not even MMA. Lacrosse is probably second to ice hockey in terms of:

"this dude just hit on my girlfriend, imma take him outside and tell him how I feel"
"He plays hockey"
"I'll buy him a beer then"
