The writing of the article is good, I recommend RTFA for his descriptions of Mayo.

"spicy" = SODIUM

The last time I tried a new chicken sandwich from McDonald's, there was more mayo than chicken, and the bun was burnt all to fark. I no longer trust McDonald's to make a decent chicken sandwich.

McDonald's can't be trusted with chicken, and I'm basing that statement on the fact that they still serve the god-awful, super shiatty "chicken nuggets" that they've been serving for over 30 years. Every other company on earth has a superior chicken nugget product. McDonald's needs to revamp their shiatty nuggets. I realize that occasionally they will acknowledge this shortcoming by releasing chicken tenders on a limited basis, to try to offset the appalling suckage of their "classic" nuggets. But it's not enough, and to be honest, those too are a mediocre effort on their part. McDonald's is known for burgers, so they never put much thought into their chicken products, and it shows. They will continue on in this fashion too, because of course now the McNugget is recognized as an integral part of their brand. If they *tried* to improve it, I think you'd see backlash from fat unhealthy bastards on a level we haven't seen since the New Coke days.

Cool. Are you going to complain that they do fries to perfection and everyone else has had 30 years to figure it out or are you just whining about your personal opinion being "fact" and that everyone should follow your whim

Given that it's McDonalds, I assume the "chicken" is 95% breading and high fructose corn syrup with the remainder being a combination of chicken bones, feet, feathers, blood, and various colours and emulsifiers that are illegal in the EU and Canada.

Fast food is disgusting; eating animals is disgusting. Turning animals into disgusting fast food is retch-worthy.

Yep, although sometimes convenient for sustaining metabolic energy.

Nope. There should be some qualifiers about not overrunning our natural resources and encouraging free range and hormone-free livestock, but your blanket statement is ridiculous. Nice try, though!

Fasting is so much healthier than eating anything on the menu at McDonalds that it defies comparison.

So its safe to assume that if you ever find yourself in a situation where you have to choose between eating toxic plants, eating animals or dying of starvation you will die of starvation

Every chicken sandwich I've ever had from McD's has resulted in the same exact thought after eating it....."well that was edible at least".(not including the McChicken because, well you know what your getting for a dollar so stfu)

I must admit I do like McNuggets and now they have spicy ones that I've yet to try but anything chicken other than McNuggets or McChicken is always to be avoided.  It's like they try to make it taste....not quite right.

*Sigh* You can be disgusted by something and still choose to do it rather than die, FFS.

I bet you're disgusted by all kinds of things, but given the choice of doing them or dying you would relent.

What I wish to do is to discredit and mock someone who waltzes into a chicken sandwich thread with the sole purpose of criticizing everyone else's decision to include chicken in their diet.

This isn't a Chicken Sandwich Thread. This is a "making fun of McDonald's Chicken" thread, as evidenced by posts 2, 3, and 4. I'm just adding fuel to a fire someone else already lit.

now McD's should do a copycat Popeye's fish sammich...

finally managed to score three of those today. I still rate it at fail #3.5 out of 4 attempts - now that I finally got to try it, they managed to put zero farking pickles on every single farking one of the farking sammiches.

the spice-level is pleasant tho' and the fish itself was tasty enough.

I had the Popeye's fish sandwich last week, I thought it was pretty tasty.  And yes, the pickles really put it into the "I'd eat that again" category.
The fries and sweet tea were a solid B, as well.  I even did the online survey from the back if the receipt...I'll be back for my free fried chicken + side, oh yes.

I give the fries a B - would be higher, but I'm not sure there's a way to ask them for less salt without waiting around forever? not such a fan of sweet tea in general, I tried it once and had to mix it with ?regular iced tea?seltzer-water? well, something to cut the sweetness.

I've got various kinds of pickles en-frigo, and there's still 2 sammiches left, but obvs. I'd really have preferred to have their exact take on the combination. eh, still have until April.4 or so, I think?

ah right, I did see that offer on the receipt, which I do still have - will have to fill it out so the wife can get thpse freebies, thanks for the reminder!

NINEv2: Ah damn. Know yous were looking forward to it. Glad it was mostly tasty though.

thanks brah, but no worries - next time I'll ask for extra pickles as a sort of lifehacker-sooper-jeenius-hack (or simply look inside the bag before we leave. but 95% of the people milling around the food court of that deserted mall were of the "the nose is not connected to the lungs!" religion, so our only thought at the time was: getting the hell out of Dodge)

...

lol, the cashier asked us "what 3 drinks do you want?" - I was like, "no, just the sammich+side combo, please." - she tried to claim you could either get the sandwich by itself, or +side+drink. but no 3rd option. not wanting to wait/argue, I shrugged and said, "ok no drinks then." - except then the receipt showed 3 sandwiches, 2 fries, 1 mac-n-cheese, no drinks. lol! altho' when the assembly guy was putting it all to gether, he said no mac-n-cheese, do you want another fries or to wait? yeah, fine, moar friez please.

the good part? when I first ordered, that same cashier shouted back into the kitchen, "DO WE HAVE ANY FISH MEAT I NEED THREE!" - which scared me for a second. but apparently what she meant was, do we have any sad-looking heat-lamp sandwiches or will you have to cook some. so we got 3 brand new piping hot ones which had never been sitting around. that almost made up for the pickle incident!

/I love that they call it "fish meat" hahaha! (and the store closer to us did as well, on fail #1 or fail #2, I forget which. so it's, like, written in their handbook or something?)

McD's had more than a few iterations over the last ~15 years, didn't they? the Southern chicken, the buttermilk chicken, a few other ones? honestly they should just turn/bribe/kidnap some braniacs from Popeye's and/or chik-fil-a and get it right for once.

the times my wife got the Popeye's chicken sammich, that thing is just staggeringly farking ginormous, unbelievable. she had to save half for later each time, lol! I have to wonder if mcdonalds could manage a similar price point, especially when they want e.g. $4-5 for just a non-combo filet-o-feesh pieces-parts, but $1 for a McChicken pieces-parts. their business model is all over the map.

Gotta be honest, this is McDonald's best attempt at a chicken sandwich so far.  Tried the spicy version yesterday and it wasn't bad at all.  Seems they definitely took some notes from Chick Fil A even down to the packaging.

With the addition of a sauce, I was able to taste the familial bonds that connect the chicken breast to the greatest, holiest item on the McDonald's menu: McNuggets.

Well, the days of me not taking this writer seriously are coming to a middle.

That was, without question, the most disappointing chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life. I'd honestly take a $1 McShikkuh over that pile of disappointment on a bun. At least you'd get your money's worth.

Come on. Don't be that way. There's a reason I will never eat at McDonald's.... multiple reasons... and most of em documented!

Wendy's for fast food.

Texas Roadhouse for chain decent food. I live by and swear by Texas Roadhouse as the only chain restaurant to eat at.
