If you can't meet your vaccination goals,

Guess that one dose J&J vaccine is going to not look so bad down.
What is the protection level with only the first dose of AstraZeneca?

This is why contracts have penalties for failure to perform.  Sign a better one next time.

It is almost as though all initial projections are a bundle of poppycock.

I do so enjoy the comments here about how the US is going to have eleventy-billion doses available just because the manufacturer says so. You can count your vaccines when you take delivery and they are sitting on a shelf.

/Some places already running out
/2021 is just the second half of 2020

The EU had already lost a lot of time negotiating the contract they ultimately got. How much longer should they have continued to haggle while trying to get the company to agree to performance penalties? And if it refused, what then?

"AstraZeneca announced on February 11 it had seen its profits double in 2020."

Surprise!

Wasnt all this simply because they needed a huge scale of a bunch of different things that simply couldnt be made at the scale needed?

No it was because there was absolutely no plan in place.  That's why the EU is so far ahead of the US in vaccinations.

I am told that the British are stealing vaccines from the EU.

/Wouldn't surprise me
//EU stealing vaccines from the UK also wouldn't surpise me.
