Army corps of engineers: "Let's dam up that river. Poison all the fish, then stock it  with game fish, that will encourage fishermen to come here and spend money. Yup yup yup."

30 years later you got catfish the size of dogs begging in schools the size of a school bus at the docks.

But someone got millions in taxpayers money and it was not the farmers and townspeople whose livelihoods, cemeteries, and homes are at the bottom of a hydroelectric dam now.

They are paying a utility company for light. And heat. And taxes on that dam's upkeep.

But beware of socialism.
