One of the top trending topics on Twitter today is people just finding out that Elizabeth Olsen is related to Mary-Kate and Ashley.

The newer generation is dumber than shiat.

Who the f*ck didn't know that existed? I mean really!
And f*ck JK Rowling.

The ones who didn't know were the "appropriate" of HP fans when they came out and were probably ushered out of the movie to beat the rush. When they had the DVD's they probably never cared about credits and promptly pressed the stop button. So yes, so surprising that young kids and people living in areas where legit copies might have been harder to come by years ago, are surprised by something they missed. I think I went on longer than the article did...

It could be Sofia Vergara naked giving a table dance, and I couldn't watch all the credits for a 1 minute scene.  I own all Harry Potters and many Marvel movies and haven't seen a single post credit scene.

If they did know, you'd be complaining about how much the newer generation worships celebrities.

Yeah, I didn't. Of course I've only caught parts of the movies so there's that.

Maybe one day I'll watch them with the kids.

Kids today don't get that people who were in reality shows before they were born and retired from acting 9 years ago are related to someone whose acting career is doing well today? No way.

I had a similar moment recently, fwiw, when watching a documentary about the life of Bob Monkhouse. On the whole, it reminded me of why I used to think he's a bit of an arse. And it had vox pops from his contemporaries, one of whom was Dominic Holland. Who I remember seeing on panel shows, back in the 90s. Turns out, his son, Tom, is a bit more famous than he ever managed to be. Never joined those dots together before then.

/Kids today would probably find the concept of the Olsen twins countdown timer pretty farking creepy, too.
//And I've found myself googling which of the Olsen twins Wanda is on at least a couple of occasions, too.

No - the rule holds on Fark too - just in concurrence with yours.  For every expert out of woodwork there will be someone that's just hearing about this breathing oxygen thing.

I suppose you're right. It does seem funny though, how certain sites (or apps) have more of one type over the other.

This might be the single stupidest comment I've seen on Fark in a long time.

Not everyone is an avid consumer of biographies of the stars. Most people probably don't even know who EO even is especially if they are not MCU fans. So why should they know who her sisters are? And unless someone is a fan of the Olsen twins, they probably don't care.

/I saw the post credits scenes because I watch the credits unless I'm with someone who wants to leave. But I'm not so stupid to think it is odd that someone who does not watch the credits might not know about the scene especially since it was from years ago.

Gee, if only there was a globally distributed depository containing the entire body of knowledge of the human farking race, where information on anything is accessible instantly from anywhere, so that people could look shiat up if they were so inclined.

Too bad there isn't one.

Yeah, so, you know that Elizabeth Olsen is related to a couple of child reality stars from a bit back.

You don't have to be a dick about it.

Why the hell is this in the news?

Last month, we learned that Warner Bros. reportedly has a Harry Potter TV series in the works at HBO Max

Oh, it's a commercial disguised as an article. Drew wrote a whole book about this and it still gets greened.

No no. It's a jacket that proves beyond a shadow of magical doubt that he is a cis heterosexual male. It's a denim jacket with the sleeves cut off.

I was unaware of this scene. I would normally wrench my mouse point over from here to there, and then to there, and then after a bit more hauling and clicking, I'd find myself watching it.

But the scene doesn't seem very appealing.

When I go to the cinema, people start getting out of their seat when the credits rolls, despite most movies having a post credit scene.

I assume these are the same idiots who applause when a plane lands.

I also wouldn't assume that famous people with the same last name are related. Olsen isn't that rare of a name.

And then you have Nicolas Cage.

EO looks like should could be the third triplet.  They are obviously related as they look very similar.
