Broseph, 3.8 is nothing to Californians, fer sure.

For those of you not in an active seismic zone, a M3.8 is like a semi driving by your house.

I've slept through M5.6 before.

Hope Gilroy didn't have all their garlic on a rickety shelf somewhere.

Destructor: And so it begins...

I think it started in July 2019 with the Ridgecest-Trona quakes.

And yes, M3.8 is small.

3.8 erect?

How is this even news? And WTF do mole people have to do with Gilroy? The only ONLY thing Gilroy has is garlic. And earthquakes. Pretty much every day...

We used to take bets on the magnitude for quakes like that. I was usually within .3, unless it was really far away.

Gilroy, garlic capital of America

And almost certainly an area that includes Canada and much of Mexico. Also produces most of the Easter Lilies consumed in North America.

It can be famous for two things! There's no law against agricultural and economic diversity. Racial, ethnic, religious and non-Republican diversity, but not crops.

3.8? Really? That's nothing in California. It's huge where there is unreinforced masonry, but not in California.

the snow plow doing the street near my house causes more vibration then a 3.8 (idk really but guestimate)

Somehow this makes me consider the lack of foresight due to deregulation displayed in Texas recently and the results to what happened in the great 2002 M7.9 Denali quake, where no one died, and there was few injuries and little damage.  And the rails the regulators made them put under the Alaskan Pipeline where it crossed the fault worked fine, preventing any leak and saving some tens or hundreds of millions in repairs and cleanups.

If an ALPCOT or something had been in charge...
